It will also invest in startups working on new ways to diagnose and treat medical conditions.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To date, Imec.xpand has invested in 23 companies that have so far raised a combined \u20ac1.5bn in funding. Price increase May 17.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imec.xpand recently opened a new office in the Netherlands, according to Dutch <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fd.nl\/bedrijfsleven\/1515392\/honderden-miljoenen-voor-europese-deeptech-start-ups\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Het Financieele Dagblad<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It wants to focus more on the region, particularly in Eindhoven \u2014 a city renowned for tech innovation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The VC has already supported several startups in the region. These include\u00a0 Axelera AI, which makes chips for edge computing, and Philips spinoff Scil, which builds chip manufacturing equipment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another Dutch startup in Imec-xpand\u2019s portfolio is Onera. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company develops clinical-grade sleep tests for home use to diagnose disorders such as insomnia.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Push_for_semiconductor_tech\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Push for semiconductor tech<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this latest fundraising, Imec.xpand focuses in particular on semiconductor development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWith this fund, we are dedicated to advancing the semiconductor industry by empowering startups to bring innovative technologies to market faster,\u201d said Tom <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vanhoutte, partner at the VC firm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The combination of our venture capital and international network helps unicorns grow amid the global race for semiconductor supremacy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In September, Europe passed the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chips Act<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which looks to double the bloc\u2019s global market share in semiconductors from 10% to 20% by 2030.
