The Usher-headlined Lovers & Friends festival has been canceled due to what the organizers are calling \u201cdangerous\u201d weather, and this latest cancelation is raising eyebrows amongst fans who have watched the festival seemingly implode well before any storms.<\/p>\n

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter<\/a>, on Saturday (May 4), the official account of the festival made the announcement, as many fans shared that they were already on their way to the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cLovers & Friends Festival has unfortunately been canceled due to dangerous weather predicted for Saturday,\u201d the organizers wrote. \u201cFans who purchased tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets will receive a refund within 30 days. The website address in the festival\u2019s cancelation announcement tweet is apparently incorrect<\/a>, though they included the correct website<\/a> in a follow-up message.<\/p>\n

\u201c[T]he National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph.\u00a0 Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow\u2019s Lovers & Friends Festival,\u201d the site reads, in part.<\/p>\n

While Usher, Lil Wayne, and Nas were amongst the top acts listed for the now-aborted festival, it had been plagued with lineup problems from the beginning.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Mary J. Blige was announced as part of the lineup back in January, the 53-year-old singer made it clear that she will not be taking the stage at the Lovers & Friends\u00a0festival in Las Vegas this May. While she was billed alongside titans such as\u00a0Lil Wayne,\u00a0Nas,\u00a0Ludacris,\u00a0Nelly\u00a0and\u00a0Snoop Dogg, Mary has revealed that she was not scheduled to app<\/a>ear at the event, as it conflicts with a project of her own.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am beyond humbled by the response from all of you about the announcement of me on Lovers & Friends Festival,\u201d she wrote on her Instagram Story. \u201cUnfortunately my inclusion was an error as I will be busy in preparation for my Strength of a Woman Summit just one week later!<\/p>\n

\u201cI have the greatest fans in the world and can\u2019t wait to see you in New York in a few short months!\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, in February, Monica revealed that she was just as surprised as her fans about the booking.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019m looking forward to the festival. I\u2019m thinking that maybe someone will call me and actually book me \u2014 the correct way,\u201d she said when asked about her involvement with the Las Vegas festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t have any beef with them. We did great business before, so if you give me a call, we can work it out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just days prior to Monica\u2019s announcement, Juvenile took to Instagram to call out organizers of the Las Vegas festival for his inclusion in the promotional materials.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere we go again, man\u201d Juvie began his video. \u201cThese cats at Lovers & Friends \u2014 whoever in charge of Lovers & Friends, man, y\u2019all doing bad business, man. Y\u2019all done put my name on a flyer and y\u2019all know you ain\u2019t sent me no deposit, ain\u2019t sent me no bread or nothin\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Y\u2019all] keep on playing game<\/a>s, talking \u2019bout y\u2019all gonna get back at me. Look, y\u2019all playing games with the wrong muthafucka, man. If y\u2019all gon\u2019 book me \u2014 if y\u2019all not gon\u2019 book me, take my muthafuckin\u2019 name off y\u2019all flyer. I ain\u2019t got no problem with that, I could do something else with my time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded: \u201cI ain\u2019t trip<\/a>pin\u2019. But don\u2019t put my fuckin\u2019 name on y\u2019all flyers if y\u2019all know you ain\u2019t paid me no money. That\u2019s fucked up.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
