Price increase May 17.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Royal Navy has been using digital bridge simulators for decades, but these rely on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> from the early 2000s. \u201cThe old simulator was good, but you knew you were in a room with some screens,\u201d said Smallman. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Navy has installed five of the VR simulators at HMS Collingwood, a warfare school in southern England. This includes two large \u201cfull-mission\u201d units fitted with wraparound digital displays. The other three simulators are smaller versions, more like a video gaming set-up.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%E2%80%98A_game-changer\"><\/span><b>\u2018A game-changer\u2019\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When sailors put on the VR headsets, they become immersed in a 3D world. They can peer over the side of the virual boat and look down at the waves crashing against the hull.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trainees can manoeuvre the ship and practice scenarios like resupply missions or mooring at harbour. The Lieutenant was among the first trainees to go use the first-generation simulators two decades ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other four VR simulators have been divided between the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth and a new naval facility in Faslane, Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Royal Navy s<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pent \u00a327mn (\u20ac31mn) o<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n the new tech. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The simulators join an arsenal of state-of-the-art defence equipment deployed by the Navy. These include<\/span> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.royalnavy.mod.uk\/news-and-latest-activity\/news\/2024\/march\/13\/240313-harrier-in-the-gulf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">autonomous minehunters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.royalnavy.mod.uk\/news-and-latest-activity\/news\/2024\/march\/13\/240313-harrier-in-the-gulf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">electronic warfare systems<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
