Ted<\/em> is sticking around. Peacock has renewed the fantasy comedy series<\/a> from Seth McFarlane for a second season. A prequel to the Ted<\/em> movies, the show premiered on the streaming service in January.<\/p>\n

Starring McFarlane, Giorgia Whigham, Max Burkholder, and Scott Grimes, the series is set in 1993 and shows the early life of a teddy bear named Ted (McFarlane) whom his owner, John Bennett (Burkholder), wished to life as a child. Since he causes trouble while 16-year-old John and his family are away during the day, Ted is forced to attend school with John.<\/p>\n

Peacock revealed more about the series\u2019 renewal in a press release.<\/p>\n

Peacock\u2019s record-breaking most-watched original series TED has been renewed for a second season.<\/p>\n

Following its January 11 launch, season one of TED broke records as Peacock\u2019s most-watched original title to date and was the #1 Original Streaming Comedy in the U.S. for more than two consecutive months (per Nielsen).<\/p>\n

The series was also a hit with viewers around the world. In the UK, TED was the biggest U.S. comedy launch on Sky in over 20 years; in Australia, it was FOX8\u2019s #1 international series premiere on the channel in the past two years and the biggest U.S. comedy launch on streaming service BINGE; and in Canada, it was the #1 series on Showcase this year, while holding the #1 ranked show for streaming on STACKTV (VOD) during its season one run.<\/p>\n

Season one of the TED prequel series features creator and star Seth MacFarlane alongside Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes and Giorgia Whigham.<\/p>\n

Descript<\/a>ion: In this comedic prequel event series to the Ted films, it\u2019s 1993, and Ted the bear\u2019s (Seth MacFarlane) moment of fame has passed. He\u2019s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John\u2019s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he\u2019s a loyal pal who\u2019s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A premiere date for the second season of Ted<\/em> will be announced in the future.<\/p>\n
