The Other Black Girl<\/em> will not be returning for a second season. The comedy-drama thriller from the Onyx Collection was released on Hulu in September 2023.<\/p>\n

Starring Sinclair Daniel, Ashleigh Murray, Brittany Adebumola, Hunter Parrish, Bellamy Young, Eric McCormack, and Garcelle Beauvais, the series<\/a> is based on the novel of the same by Zakiya Dalila Harris.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The story follows a young female editorial assistant named Nella (Daniel) at a book publisher who is the only Black employee at her company, but that soon changes. She\u2019s excited when Hazel-May (Murray) is hired. But as Hazel\u2019s star begins to rise, Nella spirals out and discovers something sinister is going on at the company.<\/p>\n

Last year<\/a>, after the conclusion of the industry strikes, showrunners Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey were optimistic about a second season for The Other Black Girl<\/em>. \u201cOur brains are spinning. They\u2019ve been spinning on season two for a year. It\u2019s something we constantly talk about and would be very exciting to do,\u201d Reddout said. Added Hickey: \u201cSince we changed the ending, we want the chance to show everyone what\u2019s going to happ<\/a>en now. There\u2019s a lot to explore.\u201d<\/p>\n
