It could offer a range of benefits such as unbreakable encryption using quantum cryptography and linking several quantum computers to each other for even more powerful computation.<\/p>\n<p>An internet based on principles of superposition and entanglement still faces a vast amount of engineering and scientific challenges. However, certain mechanics of quantum-based communication can be used already together with classical networks.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, Q*bird\u2019s Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) allows two parties to produce and share a random secret key known only to them. This is then used to encrypt and decrypt messages, reducing the risk of someone \u201clistening in\u201d to the information. Theoretically, this is a form of encryption that will be safe from future advances in mathematics and computing.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Q*bird launched a trial of its quantum secure networking Falcon <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> with the Port of Rotterdam to protect <span>the port\u2019s digital infrastructure, as well as its communications with third parties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWe\u2019re using a novel approach by enabling many different users to connect to the same central switch station. This will allow a large number of users to exchange highly secured information,\u201d Q*Bird co-founder and CEO Ingrid Romijn said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThis is untappable. And when it is attacked, you will know it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Q*bird was founded in 2022. Thankfully, McLaren Applied bought the flailing startup out of administration three months later.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eliot and his team had the task of saving a sinking ship \u2014 and they\u2019ve done a bloody good job so far.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In less than a year, they\u2019ve managed to resume delivering spare parts, open dozens of third-party service centres, and now ebike sales \u2014 putting VanMoof back on the map.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Eliot Wertheimer will be speaking at the TNW Conference which takes place on June 20-21 in Amsterdam.
