\n Chris Pratt admits he wasn\u2019t very smart with his first big paycheck after breaking into Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\n During an app<\/a>earance on SiriusXM\u2019s\u00a0Sway in the Morning<\/em>, the actor opened up about his \u201cmade it\u201d moment as well as learning about the importance of financial literacy later in life.<\/p>\n

\n When Pratt was asked if he was frugal with the money he initially earned from acting because of his modest beginnings, he quickly responded, \u201cNo!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI was under the impression that I would never run out of money,\u201d the Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> star explained with a laugh. \u201cThe first paycheck I got, I was like, \u2018Are you serious?\u2019 I had lived on very little money for a long time, so the first big job I got \u2026 was a TV movie. I got paid $75,000.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He went on to sing his own rendition of George Michael\u2019s \u201cCareless Whisper\u201d: \u201cI was like, \u2018I\u2019m never gonna wait again. Fuck you, bitches, I am leaving,’\u201d Pratt quipped. \u201cAnd then about two months later, I was like, \u2018Where\u2019d that money go?!’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Pratt said he travel<\/a>ed back to Hawaii, Australia and really \u201cthe world,\u201d thinking he wouldn\u2019t run out of money. \u201cI was like, \u2018Well, I\u2019m gonna probably invest, I\u2019m probably gonna get a yacht,’\u201d he added. \u201cThat was just a crazy amount of money to me. I never could have possibly imagined making that amount of money and it went very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The Jurassic World<\/em> actor explained that he was never taught about financial literacy when he was younger because \u201cwe never had any money growing up.\u201d But as life got more expensive as an adult, he realized he needed to create a plan.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI didn\u2019t know what to do with money. It was like, it would come in, I would spend it,\u201d Pratt said. \u201cIt took a good amount of time for me to kind of stop and say, \u2018All right, I gotta get wise about this.\u2019 I have to think about, \u2018What am I gonna do? How am I gonna get to the point where if I stop working one day, I\u2019ll still be OK? My family will be OK.\u2019 So, kind of coming up with a financial literacy plan, you know, later in my life was sort of one of the steps of me growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The Parks and Recreation <\/em>actor also said there were many moments throughout his career when he felt like he \u201cmade it,\u201d including a Carl\u2019s Jr. TV commercial, getting his SAG card and finding a talent rep. However, his most memorable moment was buying his mother, Kathy Pratt, a house after his role on the TV drama Everwood<\/em>.<\/p>\n
