Shirow Masamune<\/strong>\u2018s cyberpunk manga<\/a> The<\/em> Ghost in the Shell<\/em> is inspiring a new anime that will be produced by Science<\/a> SARU<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The show is planned to be broadcast in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Masamune\u2019s manga debuted in the May 1989 issue of Kodansha\u2019s Young Magazine Kaizokuban. Various anime adaptations with different takes on the source material were made, including Mamoru Oshii<\/strong>\u2018s atmospheric and contemplative Ghost in the Shell<\/em> and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence<\/em> movies<\/a>; the mystery thriller-styled Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex<\/em> series and movie; the Ghost in the Shell: Arise <\/em>films. which featured a younger version of main heroine Motoko Kusanagi; and the 3DCG Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045<\/em>, which takes place after Stand Alone Complex<\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The previous anime adaptations were produced by Production I.G<\/strong>, with SOLA DIGITAL ARTS<\/strong> assisting for SAC_2045<\/em>. The committee for the new anime includes Bandai Namco Filmworks<\/strong>, Kodansha<\/strong>, Science SARU, and Production I.G.<\/span><\/p>\n
