\n Glen Powell is sharing why he worried he ruined 2016\u2019s Oscar-nominated film\u00a0Hidden Figures<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n The actor, who portrayed astronaut John Glenn in the movie, made a recent app<\/a>earance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane<\/em>\u00a0podcast<\/a> where he recalled his first time watching a rough cut of the historical drama.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt does get in your own head,\u201d Powell explained. \u201cPeople forget that when you\u2019re watching a rough cut of a movie, it\u2019s probably like watching the footage of yourself that you\u2019re having to edit. So you sit there and you\u2019re like, \u2018I hate myself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He continued, \u201cI remember watching [Hidden Figures] for the first time on the Fox lot \u2014 and this was before all the effects were done, the music was in [and] the sound design \u2014 and I literally left the movie, and I puked in the bushes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The Anyone But You<\/em> star noted that he truly thought he \u201cruined\u201d the Theodore Melfi-directed movie starring Octavia Spencer, Taraji P Henson and Janelle Mon\u00e1e.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI was like, \u2018All these women put in these great performances,\u2019 and it\u2019s like the legacy of these women. I was like, \u2018I literally ruined this movie,’\u201d Powell said. \u201cIt feels like the most atrocious thing you can do as an actor is just be terrible in a movie about real-life people that need a real-life story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n However, once he saw the final cut of Hidden Figures<\/em> with all the other elements added in, the Hit Man<\/em> actor\u2019s opinion changed.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cOnce the music gets in there, it starts being polished a little bit,\u201d he said. \u201cWe all want to be good \u2026 and nobody wants to be the weak point in a movie, especially when you\u2019re talking about real-life stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Earlier this week, for The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s latest cover story, Powell opened up about his journey to Hollywood and why he\u2019s now leaving to return to his native Texas to be closer to his family.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThat\u2019s the funniest part about this moment,\u201d the Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> actor said. \u201cI\u2019ve worked really hard for a long time, putting things together and just trying to get them in shape enough for people to give a shit. Then you get to a place where people are just like, \u2018Yeah, let\u2019s do it,\u2019 and suddenly you\u2019re playing musical chairs with yourself. You\u2019re like, \u2018Wait, do I sit in all these chairs\u00a0right now<\/em>?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
