\n Production powerhouse Fremantle has app<\/a>ointed Mark Reynolds as its global head of documentaries, reporting to Andrea Scrosati, group COO and CEO, Continental Europe.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n The executive had joined the company as interim global head of documentaries in January.\u00a0 \u201cIn his role Mark will continue to support the growth of the Fremantle Global Documentaries business, driving collaboration across production companies and labels around the world,\u201d the firm said.<\/p>\n

\n Prior to his work at Fremantle, a subsidiary of German media<\/a> conglomerate Bertelsmann, he was a consultant advising producers and distribution platforms on programming, co-production and distribution strategies. Before that, he served as unscripted portfolio director at BBC Studios. Reynolds also worked at BBC Worldwide, focusing on the commercial and content strategy for factual programming for global distribution.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWith his extensive commercial expertise in the unscripted genre on a global scale, Mark will continue to spearhead our activity in the premium documentary space, working with our world-class production companies and labels to position Fremantle as one of the leading players in this genre,\u201d said Scrosati.<\/p>\n

\n Reynolds said he was excited to \u201ccollaborate with some of the world\u2019s finest and most innovative storytellers across a diverse range of critically acclaimed documentaries to continue to grow a world-class reputation of quality for Fremantle Global Documentaries.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Fremantle has made a number of strategic investments to support and bolster its growth strategy within the documentary and non-scripted market via its more than 20 documentary labels, which are producing content in more than 12 territories.\u00a0Among recent transactions are deals for Beach House Pictures and Asacha Media Group, following the acquisition of 72 Films, Wildstar Films and Silvio Productions in 2022, as well as the launch of premium documentaries label Undeniable last year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
