The game launched alongside an admittedly <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QMH_SGJciQY&amp;t=3s\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hilarious promo video<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> featuring the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Ken Jeong.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the time of writing, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squad Busters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has already been <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a>ed over 10 million times on Google Play. It was the <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pocketgamer.biz\/news\/84095\/supercells-squad-busters-the-no-1-most-downloaded-app-store-app-in-122-countries\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most downloaded app<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 122 countries on Wednesday.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I gave the new game a whirl to find out what all the fuss was about.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like Supercell\u2019s other titles, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squad Busters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is completely free to play. You get gems by eliminating monsters, raiding chests, or destroying other online players and their squads. The more gems you earn, the bigger and more badass your squad will become.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You start out as a lone barbarian, but you can quickly add new members to your squad. These include characters from some of Supercell\u2019s previous hit titles like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clash of Clans<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brawl Stars<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You run around the map using the touchscreen on <span id=\"urn:enhancement-150ebbb5-df86-4b71-8134-c628673e8987\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.thenextweb.com\/tnw\/entity\/smartphone_model\">your phone<\/span>. When you want to bash a coin-filled chest, kill a monster, or fight other online players you simply stop running and your character(s) will start brawling. Fight or flight \u2014 those are the only controls.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Our_verdict\"><\/span><b>Our<i> <\/i>verdict\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some might see the game\u2019s simplicity as a good thing, but after an hour or so of gameplay I was pretty bored.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike some of Supercell\u2019s previous titles, which require some strategic thinking, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squad Busters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> feels unidimensional. The lack of controls is indicative of the broader gameplay \u2014 there\u2019s little variety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aside from giving overstimulated eight-year-olds a dopamine hit, I can\u2019t see <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squad Busters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> gaining the same level of popularity as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clash of Clans<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which remains one of the world\u2019s most <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/vgsales.fandom.com\/wiki\/List_of_highest-grossing_mobile_games\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">popular mobile games<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by consumer spending.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then again, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Squad Busters<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is free so I don\u2019t feel hard done by. It is still a pretty neat little game to kill time \u2014 and probably marginally better for your brain cells than endlessly scrolling through <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the meantime, check out the promo vid for <em>Squad Busters<\/em>.
