Outlander<\/em> viewers now know when to expect to see the rest of season seven of the popular Starz drama series<\/a>. A press release and a teaser trailer announced the return date and the addition of three new members to the drama\u2019s cast for the eighth and final season.<\/p>\n

Starring Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, John Bell, Charles Vandervaart, Izzy Meikle-Small, Joey Phillips, Caitlin o\u2019Ryan, Paul Gorman, Hugh Ross, Sarah Collier, Mark Lewis Jones, and Alexander Vhalos, the series follows a nurse (Balfe) from World War II who is sent back in time 300 years. There, she falls in love with and is marries a young Scottish warrior (Heughan), but her previous life haunts her.<\/p>\n

Starz revealed more about the series\u2019 return in a press release.<\/p>\n

As part of the \u201cWorld Outlander Day\u201d celebration, STARZ announced today that the highly anticipated second half of \u201cOutlander\u201d season seven will premiere on Friday, November 22.<\/strong> New episodes will be available weekly on Fridays at midnight ET on the STARZ app<\/a>, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms. On linear, new episodes will debut at 8:00 PM ET\/PT on STARZ in the U.S.<\/p>\n

In addition to the eight remaining episodes in season seven, \u201cOutlander\u201d is currently in production on a 10-episode eighth and final season. STARZ also announced today three new characters joining the cast for season eight. Kieran Bew (\u201cHouse of the Dragon,\u201d \u201cWarrior\u201d) will be playing \u201cCaptain Charles Cunningham,\u201d a retired British soldier, Frances Tomelty (\u201cWoman in the Wall,\u201d \u201cCatastrophe\u201d) will be playing his mother, \u201cElspeth Cunningham,\u201d and Carla Woodcock (\u201cSuch Brave Girls,\u201d \u201cA Good Girl\u2019s Guide to Murder\u201d) joins in the role of \u201cAmaranthus Grey,\u201d a new member of the Grey family.<\/p>\n

Coming off of the first half of \u201cOutlander\u201d season seven, viewers find Claire (Caitr\u00edona Balfe), Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Young Ian (John Bell) leaving the colonies and arriving in their beloved homeland: Scotland. The perils of the Revolutionary War force them to choose between standing by those they love and fighting for the land they have made their new home. Meanwhile, Roger (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) face new enemies across time, and must battle the forces that threaten to pull their family apart. As loyalties change and painful secrets come to light, Jamie and Claire\u2019s marriage is tested like never before. With their love binding them over oceans and centuries, can the MacKenzies and Frasers find their way back to each other?<\/p>\n

Alongside Balfe, Heughan, Skelton, Rankin and Bell, \u201cOutlander\u201d also stars David Berry as \u201cLord John Grey,\u201d Charles Vandervaart as \u201cWilliam Ransom,\u201d Izzy Meikle-Small as \u201cRachel Hunter\u201d and Joey Phillips as \u201cDenzell Hunter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Caitr\u00edona Balfe, and Sam Heughan serve as executive producers on \u201cOutlander,\u201d which is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Left Bank Pictures and Story Mining & Supply Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television.<\/p>\n

The \u201cOutlander\u201d television series is inspired by Diana Gabaldon\u2019s international best-selling books, which have sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide, with all nine of the books gracing the New York Times best-seller list. The \u201cOutlander\u201d television series has become a worldwide success with audiences, spanning the genres of history, science<\/a> fiction, romance, and adventure in one amazing tale.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the \u201cOutlander\u201d Universe is expanding with a prequel series also in production in Scotland. \u201cOutlander: Blood of My Blood\u201d will explore the lives and relationship of Jamie\u2019s parents, Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), and Claire\u2019s parents, Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield). The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie\u2019s parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire\u2019s parents in WWI England. \nKieren Bew is perhaps best known for \u201cBeowulf\u201d in which he played the title role alongside Joanne Whalley and William Hurt, as well as \u201cBill O\u2019Hara\u201d in \u201dWarrior\u201d season 1- 3. Next up, we will see him as new regular \u201cHugh\u201d in \u201cHouse of the Dragon\u201d season two.<\/p>\n

Also widely recognised as Da Vinci\u2019s Demons regular \u201cDuke Alfonso,\u201d he has worked extensively in British TV and film, including alongside Matt Smith in the BAFTA winning \u201cThe Street.\u201d Other recent TV credits include: \u201cRules of the Game<\/a>\u201d with Maxine Peake, \u201cLiar\u201d with Joanne Froggatt, \u201cRellik,\u201d created by Harry and Jack Williams and \u201cCold Feet.\u201d He also appeared in the box office smash Alien vs. Predator and Lexi Alexander\u2019s independent drama Green Street. Further television credits include \u201cDr Who\u201d, \u201cBrush with Fate,\u201d \u201cHans Christian Andersen\u201d and \u201cSpooks.\u201d<\/p>\n

His theatre credits have earned great critical acclaim. These include \u201cTherese Raquin\u201d, directed by Jonathan Mumby, Neil Le Bute\u2019s \u201cReasons to be Pretty\u201d at The Almeida, Mike Attenborough\u2019s \u201cKing Lear\u201d at The Almeida Theatre, Natalie Abrahami\u2019s \u201cAfter Miss Julie\u201d, and Trevor Nunn\u2019s \u201cRichard II\u201d at the Old Vic.<\/p>\n

In film, Bew can be seen in Carol Morley\u2019s feature Typist Artist Pirate King with Kelly Macdonald, Gina McKee and Monica Donlan.<\/p>\n

Bew is also an accomplished athlete having competed in fencing at international and world championship levels, as well as swimming at a national championship level.<\/p>\n

\nFrances Tomelty\u2019s career spans six decades. Irish born, her London stage appearances include leading roles with both the Royal National and the Royal Shakespeare Company where \u201cMrs Darling\u201d opposite Mark Rylance was a favorite as was \u201cThe Normal Heart\u201d at The Royal Court with Martin Sheen.<\/p>\n

Her many Television appearances include \u201cSpooks,\u201d \u201cUnforgotten,\u201d \u201cThe White Queen,\u201d \u201cCall the Midwife,\u201d \u201cTrial and Retribution,\u201d \u201cWarrior Nun,\u201d \u201cThe Nevers,\u201d \u201cApple Tree Yard,\u201d \u201cCatastrophe\u201d and most recently \u201cWoman in the Wall\u201d with Ruth Wilson.<\/p>\n

Voice work includes the successful multi-series \u201cHow Does That Make You Feel?\u201d and her award winning recording of \u201cThe Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne.\u201d<\/p>\n

Writing credits include \u201cAn L\u00e1 Cor\u00f3n\u00fa\u201d (Coronation Day) a multi-language short film for BBC NI and several short stories for BBC Radio 4.<\/p>\n

\nCarla Woodcock is a British actor, with leading credits across TV and film. Most recently, Woodcock starred in the BAFTA nominated series, \u201cSuch Brave Girls,\u201d created by Kat Sadler and directed by Simon Bird. She starred as \u201cZia\u201d in \u201cTell Me Everything\u201d and took on a leading role in \u201cThe History Of A Pleasure Seeker.\u201d Other TV credits include \u201cAckley Bridge,\u201d \u201cFlowers in the Attic\u201d and \u201cFree Rein.\u201d<\/p>\n
