But the French aerospace firm did stress that the human fighter pilot will always have full control of their machine sidekick.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike the nimble drones that have become ubiquitous on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the battlefield in Ukraine<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Wingman <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears to be about the same size as a fighter jet. The drone will be able to do everything a manned fighter can but without the risks to human life. This means it can be sent on more dangerous missions.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"German_airforce\"><\/span>German airforce<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While still early days, Airbus suggests the Wingman could be paired with Germany\u2019s 4th-generation Eurofighter Typhoon jets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe German Air Force has expressed a clear need for an unmanned aircraft flying with and supporting missions of its manned fighter jets,\u201d said Michael Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space. \u201cOur Wingman concept is the answer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Europe is currently working on a so-called <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.airbus.com\/en\/products-services\/defence\/multi-domain-superiority\/future-combat-air-system-fcas\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Future Combat Air System<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (FCAS) to replace the air defence technologies of today. The proposal includes building a new weapons system, a sixth-generation fighter jet to replace the Eurofighter, and remote-controlled swarming carrier drones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Airbus is developing the FCAS alongside France\u2019s Dassault Aviation and Spain\u2019s Indra Sistemas. The partners plan to put the system into service by 2045.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For now, Wingman is confined to a bunch of pretty 3D renders and a show model \u2014 it\u2019s not certain if it will ever take to the skies.
