The update would permit Meta to funnel years of personal posts, private images, or online tracking data into an undefined \u201cAI <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>,\u201d NYOB said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Vienna-based group warned that the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> owner could ingest personal data from any source. Meta could then share all the information with unspecified \u201cthird parties.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Meta argues that it has a legitimate interest for using the data. His previous legal challenges famously brought down two EU-US agreements on cross-border data transfers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meta\u2019s data harvesting has frequently come under <span>Schrems<\/span>\u2018 scrutiny. His latest case involves violations of the<span>\u00a0EU\u2019s GDPR data protection rules. Such breaches are nothing new at Meta. During the first five years of the regulation, the tech giant amassed a staggering \u20ac2.5bn in GDPR fines \u2014 over half of the global total.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>NOYB claims that Meta is now using AI as an excuse for future violations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeta is basically saying that it can use \u2018any data from any source for any purpose and make it available to anyone in the world\u2019, as long as it\u2019s done via \u2018AI technology\u2019,\u201d <span>Schrems<\/span> said in a statement. \u201cThis is clearly the opposite of GDPR compliance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>Meta wants to use all the public and non-public user data that the tech giant has collected since 2007, NOYB said. This includes \u201cdormant\u201d Facebook accounts. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The company would collect this information without an \u201copt-in.\u201d Once the data enters Meta\u2019s system, users <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear to have no option of ever removing it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeta doesn\u2019t say what it will use the data for, so it could either be a simple chatbot, extremely aggressive personalised advertising or even a killer drone,\u201d <span>Schrems<\/span> said. \u201cMeta also says that user data can be made available to any \u2018third party\u2019 \u2014 which means anyone in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span>NOYB<\/span><em><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span>plans to file complaints in every EU member state within the coming days. <\/span><span>Users in these countries can register <\/span><span>their interest in becoming a complainant <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/newsletter.noyb.eu\/pf\/433\/ycE4r\">via this form<\/a><\/span><span>.<\/span>\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
