It estimates that clean\u00a0energy tech funding will hit $2 trillion in 2024 \u2014 nearly double the figure for fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest magnets for the cash include renewables, electric vehicles, and nuclear power. Yet not every region is splashing the cash lavishly.<\/p>\n<p>China has emerged as the runaway leader. Sign up now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Fatih Birol, the IEA\u2019s Executive Director, expects the spending to continue growing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClean energy investment is setting new records even in challenging economic conditions, highlighting the momentum behind the new global energy economy,\u201d he said. \u201cFor every dollar going to fossil fuels today, almost two dollars are invested in clean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not all good <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, however. According to the IEA, the clean tech world is increasingly polarised.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Global_disparities_in_clean_energy\"><\/span>Global disparities in clean energy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>China, Europe, and the US accounted <span>for over two-thirds of the global clean energy investment. Beyond these financial powerhouses, the capital is flowing far less freely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Outside of China, spending<span>\u00a0remains low in emerging and developing economies. Combined, they account for only about 15% of global clean energy investment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The IEA warns that high capital costs are stifling their clean\u00a0tech projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore must be done to ensure that investment reaches the places where it is needed most, in particular the developing economies where access to affordable, sustainable, and secure energy is severely lacking today,\u201d Birol said.<\/p>\n<p>Fossil fuels are also still attracting big bucks. Global upstream oil and gas investment is set to grow by 7% in 2024 to reach $570 billion, according to the IEA.
