After a delay caused by the coronavirus,\u00a0Mission: Impossible 7<\/em> <\/strong>is finally filming \u2013 and in true\u00a0Mission: Impossible<\/em> fashion, Tom Cruise<\/strong>\u2018s life is already in danger. Director Christopher McQuarrie<\/strong> shared a behind-the-scenes image that app<\/a>ears to show Cruise standing on a ramp planted precariously on the side of a cliff. Set footage reveals that Cruise\u2019s character Ethan Hunt is riding a motorcycle off that ramp, parachuting down from there.<\/p>\n

Oh Tommy Cruise, what have you gotten yourself into this time? This set pic is from the\u00a0Helsetkopen mountain, near Hellesylt in Norway, where a ramp was built to launch Cruise into the air. There are videos capturing the stunt all over the net, and you can find one here, from Good Morning America. A camera on a helicopter follows Cruise as he rides his bike up the ramp and then deploys a parachute. The footage (and the set pic) are distant enough that I\u00a0suppose<\/em> we could say that it\u2019s not Cruise, it\u2019s his stuntman. But let\u2019s get real here \u2013 is Tommy Cruise\u00a0really<\/em> going to let another terrifying, death-tempting stunt be handled by his stuntman when he can just do it himself?<\/p>\n

Reports indicate that Cruise performed this stunt at least four times during filming, because why risk your life once when you can do it over and over again? For fun?<\/p>\n

Mission: Impossible 7<\/em> brings back not just Cruise but also previous\u00a0Mission<\/em> players Ving Rhames<\/strong>, Henry Czerny<\/strong>, Simon Pegg<\/strong>, Rebecca Ferguson<\/strong>, and Vanessa Kirby<\/strong>. New additions include\u00a0Hayley Atwell<\/strong>, Pom Klementieff<\/strong>, Shea Whigham<\/strong>, and Esai Morales<\/strong>. We don\u2019t really know what the plot of the film is just yet, but it\u2019s safe to assume it will involve Ethan Hunt and his team on yet another hair-raising mission. Who knows, the team might even be disavowed yet again \u2013 something that seems to happen often in this franchise.<\/p>\n

Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the previous two films in the series<\/a>, is back to direct, and will actually shoot\u00a0Mission: Impossible 8<\/em> back-to-back with\u00a07<\/em>. Filming on\u00a0M:I 7<\/em> was supposed to start in late February of this year, but the coronavirus complicated things. After some delays, McQuarrie and company are back to work in Norway. As of now,\u00a0Mission: Impossible 7<\/em> is set to hit theaters\u00a0November 19, 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
