However, with today\u2019s funding announcement, it seems the im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>te financial woes may be over for the time being.<\/p>\n<p><span>Following the departure of founder and CEO Emad Mostaque in March after allegations of mismanagement and what <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/03\/23\/stability-ai-ceo-emad-mostaque-steps-down-stable-diffusion\/\" data-gtm-vis-first-on-screen934287_1021=\"72646\" data-gtm-vis-total-visible-time934287_1021=\"100\" data-gtm-vis-has-fired934287_1021=\"1\"><span>Fortune<\/span><\/a><span> termed an \u201cinvestor mutiny,\u201d sources close to the company reported last month that Stability AI was considering a sale. (For the record, Mostaque himself said he left to pursue \u201cdecentralised AI.\u201d)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>How close they came to going through with that sale we might never know. This afternoon, Stability AI announced that the company had secured \u201csignificant new investment\u201d from a group of backers, albeit of an undisclosed amount.<\/p>\n<p>The knights in shining AI armour include Greycroft, Coatue Management, Sound Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and O\u2019Shaughnessy Ventures. Sign up now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The latter will also become the CEO at Stability, stating that the startup\u2019s world-class team, breakthrough models, and unique developer network attracted him to take on the role.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to release the most cutting-edge open models for the community, while meeting the overwhelming demand for AI solutions from large-scale corporations,\u201d Akkaraju said. \u201cAdditionally, Stability AI is now in an ideal position to spearhead the real convergence of generative AI and studio content.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_highs_and_lows_of_Stability_AI\"><\/span>The highs and lows of Stability AI<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Founded in 2019, Stability AI soon became an early frontrunner in the generative AI race, reaching unicorn status in 2022. Its image-generating models have proved incredibly popular. Its flagship model, Stable Diffusion, has over 150 million <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a>s on open-source platform Hugging Face.<\/p>\n<p>However, as with several GenAI companies, it has also become the target of lawsuits from artists who feel their work has been exploited. Furthermore, massive costs associated with renting GPUs from cloud service providers soon saw the company in dire financial straits. It remains to be seen if the \u201csignificant\u201d new cash injection and new leadership will be enough to stabilise things at Stability.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Beyond_text-to-image\"><\/span>Beyond text-to-image<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Beyond image-to-text models, Stability AI has also released Stable Vicuna, the \u201cworld\u2019s first open source RLHF LLM chatbot,\u201d video generating Stable Video Diffusion, and two audio generating models: Stable Audio 2.0 an Stable Audio Open. It also has its own family of multilingual LLMs.<\/p>\n<p>Former President of Facebook, Sean Parker, will be joining the board as Executive Chairman. \u201cI\u2019m committed to the open-source principles that Stability AI was built upon,\u201d Parker said. \u201cThese principles have made Stability AI\u2019s open models the most widely used foundational AI image models globally.
