Jonathan Van Ness<\/strong> is FINALLY responding to those allegations\u2026<\/p>\n

Back in March, Rolling Stone<\/em> ran a scathing expos\u00e9 in which multiple witnesses accused the Queer Eye<\/em> star of having \u201crage\u201d issues, leaving co-workers in \u201cfear,\u201d and being an overall \u201cmonster.\u201d It\u2019s a LOT, and you can catch up on it all HERE.<\/p>\n

Now, over three months after its release, Jonathan is finally speaking out.<\/p>\n

While app<\/a>earing on the Table Manners<\/em> podcast on Wednesday, the nonbinary TV star revealed they and the rest of the \u201cQueer Eye<\/em> family\u201d caught wind of the \u201cinvestigative takedown\u201d back in December \u2014 but were advised it \u201cisn\u2019t really based in reality.\u201d However, they were told:<\/p>\n

\u201c[It] can certainly have a lot of things taken out of context to make you look as bad as possible. So that could drop any day now. Just so you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It did make them look pretty bad\u2026<\/p>\n

Jonathan recalled feeling like they had to \u201cwalk on eggshells\u201d after learning the expos\u00e9 could hit the web at any point:<\/p>\n

\u201c\u200b\u200bI think a lot of people were like looking for a reason to hate me or like looking for a reason to be like, \u2018See, I always knew that they were a fake c**t and this is the proof. My family was so supportive of my husband and my team, but I didn\u2019t even get on social media<\/a>, like look at my phone for three weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The hairstylist also noted how bad of timing it all was, as they were getting ready to launch their haircare line, JVN Hair<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think people forget no matter how famous you are you\u2019re still a person. That article came at like an incredibly vulnerable time, like for my hair care company, for like my whole career. It just was really rough.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But despite maintaining the \u201carticle was overwhelmingly untrue and done in bad faith,\u201d Jonathan still tried to use it as an opportunity to hold themself accountable:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have obviously been times through my career where you\u2019re like stressed out. Or like I may have been like elbow deep in highlights and was like, \u2018No, I can\u2019t talk about that right now.\u2019 I know that there was times where I like could have been better.\u201d<\/p>\n

They recalled thinking:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh my God, is it true? Like, am I really this bad person?\u2019 It forced me to just like really learn how to slow down, disengage and then really love myself \u2026 I think that that article made me realize like how much I\u2019d been put in this position of like being an expert, or being perfect. I\u2019m someone who champions self-acceptance. But sometimes self-acceptance looks like having to love yourself through incredibly hard times.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
