\n He\u2019s a glutton for punishment.<\/p>\n

Angelo Boemio once again found himself in the hot seat Monday, four years after he went viral for sauntering down Route 9 in New Jersey wearing a pink Speedo.<\/p>\n

The chef and restaurant owner\u2019s skin-baring walk of shame was an agreed-upon punishment for finishing dead last in his fantasy football league, which adopted the humiliating statute five years ago. As part of the agreement, the last-place finisher each year has to walk for 10 minutes holding a \u201cI suck at fantasy football sign\u201d down the popular Toms River thoroughfare.<\/p>\n

This year, Boemio sucked once again. But he found himself much more prepared for the consequences.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a drink to loosen up, and I just said, \u2018It\u2019s showtime,’\u201d he told The Post.<\/p>\n

In 2016, the video of Boemio in the banana hammock was picked up by news<\/a> outlets from as far away as New Zealand and the United Kingdom. It also made him a local celebrity, especially among the customers at his family\u2019s restaurant Three B\u2019s in Lakehurst, NJ.<\/p>\n

\u201cMonths later, people were coming in and asking if I was the pink Speedo guy. We have a lot of elderly customers, and the ladies in different clubs would come in and be giggling, and I would be like, \u2018Alright, take it easy, girls.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Last time, Boemio wore a Lucha Libre wrestling mask to attempt to conceal his identity, but this year he let his bearded mug be exposed.\u00a0<\/strong>And while losers in his league have slimmed down for their bikini reveal, Boemio, 47, actually packed on more pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kept saying that I was going to be in shape this time. I had already lost some weight and then COVID happened. I put on what I lost plus another 20 to 30 pounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also had tossed his famous pink number, so he had to find a suit at the last minute on a holiday weekend. After scouring a few stores, he found an XXXL bikini bottom in the women\u2019s clearance section at Walmart.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt held everything where it was supposed to be. That was the best $3 I ever spent,\u201d says the Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder.<\/p>\n

There was also considerably more traffic than usual with a line of backed-up cars slowing down to cheer on Boemio. NJ Transit bus drivers honked and people were hanging out of sunroofs and windows waving. A few drivers even pulled over and got out of their cars to film Boemio\u2019s one-man parade of humiliation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne guy even passed by and said, \u2018I see you\u2019ve been hitting the gym.\u2019 I wanted to say, \u2018Hey, buddy, go scratch.\u2019 But you take the good with the bad\u201d \u2014 the good being the lighthearted fun, compared to an otherwise bleak year. \u201cMy wife keeps asking when we will stop doing this, but I think it was nice to put a smile on people\u2019s faces. Also, many of the guys in my league are business owners, so it\u2019s been a rough few months with COVID. It was one day where we can all have a belly laugh. It was good for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

League member Mike Durazzo, who owns La Fontana pizzeria in Brick, NJ, came up with the rule, and said that it\u2019s infinitely more exciting when Boemio loses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe other guys train for six months before so they are in shape. He just doesn\u2019t care. Angelo is such a fun-loving guy. He is a big teddy bear and he works really hard, so he likes to enjoy the time he has off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their league costs $1,000 to join and now has a wait list.<\/p>\n

But after the panty parade is finished, reality sets in. \u201cThe scary part is when it\u2019s over and we go to draft,\u201d said Durazzo, adding that it puts the pressure on everyone to pick their team wisely. \u201cI warn them all, next year, it\u2019s going to be any one of us this room walking up the street in a Speedo.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
