\n Bill Maher has gone from bemoaning President Joe Biden continuing to run for reelection in 2024 to insisting that he will be replaced, declaring at the end of his \u201cNew Rules\u201d segment on Friday\u2019s Real Time<\/em> that \u201cBiden is toast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cStop fucking around,\u201d he said. \u201cThe issue with president Biden isn\u2019t if, it\u2019s who: Who\u2019s going to replace him because he isn\u2019t going to be the Democrats\u2019 candidate for president in 2024. The one thing I know for sure about America is this: It\u2019s run by mean girls. In the press and in politics and in life. And when they smell blood in the water, the lust to finish off a vulnerable person will never be denied.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n And he offered his prediction for when the president would drop out but argued the shock of a new candidate wouldn\u2019t last long.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cMy pick in the office pool for when he gives it up is Aug. 9, the 50th anniversary of when Nixon did for, of course, very different reasons,\u201d Maher said. \u201cYes, replacing a president as his party\u2019s candidate will seem like a big deal \u2014 for about 3 days. And then we\u2019ll all be over it. \u2026 America is going to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He then ran through the pros and cons, with a few jokes thrown in, of course, of the possible Democratic politicians who could replace Biden, including Vice President Kamala Harris, California Governor Gavin News<\/a>om, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. He also rattled off a number of Democratic governors including Maryland\u2019s Wes Moore, Kentucky\u2019s Andy Beshear and Pennsylvania\u2019s Josh Shapiro.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cNo one knows who these people are, and that\u2019s good,\u201d Maher said. \u201cWe need some new characters on this sitcom we call a country. Americans like new. These guys, all you need to know is they\u2019re moderates, they\u2019re under 100 years old, and they have a \u201cD\u201d next to their names.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n He argued that despite dreams of a Michelle Obama candidacy she\u2019s \u201coff living her best life,\u201d and \u201cwe\u2019re not going to get a superstar in this draft.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe\u2019re at the airport and at this point, we just need to be sure we get last rental car,\u201d he said. \u201cSomething reasonably safe, relatively clean and not [Donald] Trump. If there isn\u2019t a dead Girl Scout in the trunk, we\u2019re good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n
