\n Kevin Feige is revealing if he thinks Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans could come back to the MCU as Iron Man and Captain America, respectively, following Hugh Jackman\u2019s return as Wolverine for Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n Thanks to the multiverse, which can have different iterations of the same characters, the Marvel Studios boss confirmed \u201cit can be done\u201d as long as \u201cgreat care is taken\u201d with the superheroes and their storylines.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cThat\u2019s the key, right? How do you do it in a way that maintains what has come before, and in a great way?\u201d Feige recently told DiscussingFilm<\/a><\/em>. \u201cAnd we\u2019ve been spending, you know, the last two-plus years figuring that out for Wolverine. So, what\u2019s to come? We\u2019ll see. We\u2019re just proud that we, I think, have figured it out for Wolverine. I think Hugh\u2019s app<\/a>earance and starring role in [Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>] is a great sign that it can be done \u2014 if great care is taken.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Downey and Evans both left the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019\u2019s Avengers: Endgame<\/a><\/em>, which also saw the notable death of Downey\u2019s Iron Man\/Tony Stark. Jackman\u2019s Logan\/Wolverine also made a heartbreaking sacrifice at the end of 2017\u2019s Logan<\/em>, however, the Les Mis\u00e9rables <\/em>actor was able to find a way to reprise his character in the upcoming Shawn Levy-directed movie without damaging the legacy of that film.<\/p>\n

\n Feige previously told Empire<\/em>\u00a0magazine<\/a>\u00a0in May that he actually warned Jackman against reprising the beloved character again. \u201cI said, \u2018Let me give you a piece of advice, Hugh. Don\u2019t come back\u2019,\u201d he recalled. \u201c\u2018You had the greatest ending in history with\u00a0Logan<\/em>. That\u2019s not something we should undo.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The actor eventually convinced Feige that it would be worth it since he would be playing a version of Wolverine that\u2019s different from his previous portrayals in the\u00a0X-Men<\/em>\u00a0movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n Jackman also told Empire<\/em>\u00a0at the time that he was excited about the R-rated Disney superhero film because he gets to show \u201cdifferent sides of Wolverine we haven\u2019t seen before in the movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em>, also starring Ryan Reynolds,\u00a0is\u00a0set to hit theaters\u00a0July 26.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
