ChatGPT plans to integrate search features from SearchGPT into ChatGPT in the future.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"bialty-container\">\nOpenAI today announced SearchGPT, its long-awaited search product.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SearchGPT is a \u201ctemporary prototype\u201d and limited to just 10,000 users and publishers at launch.<\/li>\n<li>OpenAI plans to integrate the \u201cbest\u201d parts of the new search features directly within ChatGPT in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How SearchGPT works.<\/strong> SearchGPT responds to queries using its AI models plus information pulled from the web. It will include links to relevant sources, OpenAI explained in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/searchgpt-prototype\/\">blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI is teasing SearchGPT like this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cA prototype of new search features, using the strength of our AI models to give you fast answers with clear and relevant sources.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What SearchGPT looks like.<\/strong> It looks fairly similar to what it has been doing since the arrival of GPT-4o \u2013\u00a0what is known as \u201cbrowse mode.\u201d OpenAI shared some videos of the \u201cfaster and easier\u201d SearchGPT experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It starts with a search box asking you, \u201cWhat are you searching for.\u201d <\/li>\n<li>After entering your query, SearchGPT will provide an answer that includes links to sources within the text answers and shows sources beneath the answer. <\/li>\n<li>Additional <\/strong>OpenAI is \u201claunching a way for publishers to manage how they <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ear in SearchGPT, so publishers have more choices. Importantly, SearchGPT is about search and is separate from training OpenAI\u2019s generative AI foundation models. Rumors heated up in May \u2013\u00a0but OpenAI didn\u2019t launch its search product (<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/martech.org\/openai-unveils-its-new-flagship-chatgpt-4o\/\">GPT-4o launched<\/a> instead). Then, earlier this month, The Atlantic CEO confirmed that OpenAI was \u201cgoing to build a search product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> The next Google won\u2019t do what Google does, as ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt once said. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has made it clear he has no interest in copying Google Search \u2013 but creating a new user-friendly search that combines LLMs and search without drowning you in advertising.
