\n Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood movie mogul who has been in prison following a sexual assault conviction, has been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19 and double pneumonia, his rep told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n Weinstein was taken back to the Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward to be treated for a \u201cmyriad of health conditions\u201d that still affect him \u201con a daily basis such as diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid on his heart and lungs, and various other conditions,\u201d according to his representative and prison consultant Craig Rothfeld. He then tested positive for COVID-19 and contracted double pneumonia in his lungs.<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe continue to express our gratitude to the officers, doctors and nurses at DOCS, CHS, and NYC H+H who saw to it that Mr. Weinstein was immedia<\/a>tely transferred to the Bellevue Hospital Prison Ward and will continue working hand in hand with them to ensure Mr. Weinstein receives proper medical treatment,\u201d he rep added in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n Weinstein was serving a 23-year jail sentence after his 2020 rape conviction in New York, however, it was overturned earlier this year. A tentative new trial date has been set, with jury selection estimated to begin on Nov. 12.<\/p>\n

\n In the original New York case, he was found guilty on two charges \u2014 criminal sexual assault in the first degree, based on the testimony of former\u00a0Project Runway<\/em>\u00a0production assistant Miriam Haley, and rape in the third degree, based on the testimony of one-time aspiring actress Jessica Mann.<\/p>\n

\n He was also convicted by a Los Angeles jury in 2022 on three counts of sexual assault against Jane Doe No. 1, who later came forward as former Russian model Evgeniya Chernyshova. Weinstein has also filed to app<\/a>eal that 16-year prison sentence.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
