The classic shojo manga<\/a> and anime series<\/a> <\/span>The Rose of Versailles<\/span><\/i> is receiving a new collaboration with Sanrio and its iconic mascot characters. The collaboration comes in anticipation of <\/span>MAPP<\/a>A<\/b>\u2019s upcoming new anime film <\/span>set for release in Spring 2025<\/span>.\u00a0

The company teased the collaboration in a newly released collaboration visual, featuring the series\u2019 four main characters as cute Sanrio mascots. The highlighted characters include Oscar Fran\u00e7ois de Jarjayes, Marie Antoinette, Andr\u00e9 Grandier, and Hans Axel von Fersen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, a pop-up event will also take place in the future, along with the sale of collaboration goods and merchandise. More details will be announced later on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2025 <\/span>Rose Of Versailles<\/span><\/i> film is the latest anime project that is inspired by <\/span>Riyoko Ikeda<\/b>\u2019s 1972 manga series of the same name. Previously, there was a 1979 to 1980 anime series and 1990 anime movie titled <\/span>The Rose of Versailles: I\u2019ll Love You As Long As I Live<\/span><\/i>, which was produced by <\/span>Tokyo Movie Shinsha<\/b> (now <\/span>TMS Entertainment<\/b>).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new film\u2019s synopsis is described as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Oscar Fran\u00e7ois de Jarjayes, raised as the \u201cson\u201d and heir of a general<\/a>\u2019s family, masquerades as a beautiful woman in men\u2019s clothing. Marie Antoinette arriving from neighboring Austria as a bride to become a noble and graceful queen.. Oscar\u2019s servant and childhood friend, the commoner Andr\u00e9 Grandier. Hans Axel von Fersen, a handsome and intelligent count from Sweden. They meet in Versailles, France in the prosperous late 18th Century and live their respective destinies beautifully while being tossed about by the tides of times.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n\n
