\n Stranger Things: The First Shadow<\/em> is coming to Broadway in the spring.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The play, which is set up as a prequel to the events of the Netflix series<\/a>, will start previews at the Marquis Theatre on March 28, 2025, with an opening night on April 2025. Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions are producing.\u00a0The show premiered in London\u2019s West End in December 2023, where it is still running. <\/p>\n

\n Written by Kate Trefry, the play includes younger versions of the characters from the television series, including Winona Ryder\u2019s Joyce, Sean Astin\u2019s Bob Newby and David Harbour\u2019s Hopper.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The production sums up the plot, saying: \u201cBefore the world turned upside down. Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper\u2019s car won\u2019t start, Bob Newby\u2019s sister won\u2019t take his radio show seriously and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn\u2019t so easy \u2026 and the shadows of the past have a very long reach.\u201d<\/p>\n
