\n Two women have been indicted on hate crime charges after grabbing a 7-year-old boy\u2019s \u201cMake America Great Again\u201d cap in front of his mother outside the Democratic National Convention in Delaware.<\/p>\n

Olivia Winslow and Camryn Amy, both 21, were indicted by a grand jury Tuesday on felony charges of robbery, conspiracy and hate crimes, as well as a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.<\/p>\n

Amy also was indicted on misdemeanor charges of assaulting a man who tried to recover the cap, attempting to assault the boy\u2019s mom and offensive touching of the child.<\/p>\n

The women are accused of committing the crimes \u201cfor the purpose of interfering with the victim\u2019s free exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege or immunity protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, or committed said crime because the victim had exercised or enjoyed said right or rights,\u201d according to the indictment.<\/p>\n

\u201cViolence in any form is unacceptable, but harming another person \u2013 let alone a child \u2013 because of the expression of their views betrays the principles on which our country was founded,\u201d said Delaware Attorney General<\/a> Kathleen Jennings, a Democrat who has joined multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cFree speech, free assembly, and free expression are sacred, no matter whether we agree with the opinions expressed, and especially when we don\u2019t,\u201d Jennings added in a statement.<\/p>\n

The incident \u2014 which was captured on video that went viral \u2014 occurred outside a restaurant at the Wilmington Riverfront on Aug. 20, a few hundred feet from where Joe Biden gave his DNC acceptance speech.<\/p>\n

The footage shows the two women damaging signs supporting Trump and taking a red MAGA cap.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet it Liv, get it,\u201d Amy tells Winslow, who picks up the cap from the ground and tosses it.<\/p>\n

The boy chases after the women, saying, \u201cThat\u2019s somebody else\u2019s hat,\u201d before Amy picks it up again and walks away with it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMom, call 911,\u201d the boy says.<\/p>\n

The clip later shows Amy app<\/a>arently slugging a man who tried to get the cap back before she throws it over a fence. Amy then approaches and confronts the woman shooting the video.<\/p>\n
