A third key visual has been released for Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-\u00a0<\/i>Season 3, which is weeks away from the August 30 JST theatrical premiere of its 90-minute (and recently leaked<\/a>) first episode in Japan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The visual features a smiling Subaru and Emilia in the forefront, while their allies Garfiel, Beatrice, and Otto head down the grassy slope they\u2019re standing on in the background. The city of Pristella can be seen in the distance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Re:ZERO <\/i>Season 3 will begin its broadcast in October. The first two seasons of the\u00a0White Fox<\/strong>-produced anime<\/a> premiered in 2016 and 2020, with the second season having a split-cour format.Season 2\u2019s second cour premiered in January 2021. (In July 2020, Tsunaki Yoshikawa<\/strong>, the animation producer of the first two seasons, founded\u00a0Atelier Pontdarc<\/strong>.)<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime is an adaptation of the MF Bunko J light novel series<\/a> written by\u00a0Tapp<\/a>ei Nagatsuki<\/strong>\u00a0and illustrated by\u00a0Shinichiro Otsuka<\/strong>. Yen Press\u2019 synopsis of the first volume reads:<\/span><\/p>\n

Subaru Natsuki was just trying to get to the convenience store but wound up summoned to another world. He encounters the usual things\u2013life-threatening situations, silver haired beauties, cat fairies\u2013you know, normal stuff. All that would be bad enough, but he\u2019s also gained the most inconvenient magical ability of all\u2013time travel<\/a>, but he\u2019s got to die to use it. How do you repay someone who saved your life when all you can do is die?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, the synopsis for volume 16, the start of \u201cThe Stars That Engrave History Arc\u201d that takes place after the events adapted by the anime\u2019s second season, reads:<\/span><\/p>\n

A CITY OF HIDDEN DEPTHS! In the year since the Battle of the Sanctuary, Subaru Natsuki has been busy honing his skills alongside Emilia and the other members of their merry band. The Re:ZERO <\/i>light novels began in 2014 and have 38 main volumes as of on June 25, 2024 JST. The franchise also includes short story anthologies, side stories, manga, and video game<\/a>s. The manga adaptation of \u201cThe Stars That Engrave History Arc\u201d (which uses a different title) started serialization this year.<\/span><\/p>\n
