And where some VCs specialise in particular sectors, Balderton\u2019s bets encompass a broad range of the tech ecosystem.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sector_diversification_equals_resilience\"><\/span>Sector diversification equals resilience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Balderton\u2019s current portfolio includes the likes of neobank \u2014 and Europe\u2019s most valuable startup \u2014 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revolut<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mobile gaming company Dream <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>s, automated driving <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> startup Wayve, and femtech app Clue. These new funds put us in a position to do just that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Europe\u2019s VC market, while smaller than that of the US, has proved resilient as a result of larger sector diversification, as exemplified by Balderton\u2019s approach. It displayed an uptick in the second quarter of 2024, especially in AI and SaaS, while climate tech sectors such as energy have continued going relatively strongly despite the downturn of the past few years.
