Travel and entertainment queries no longer triggered AI Overviews.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"bialty-container\">\nThe visibility of AI Overviews in Google\u2019s search results increased to 12% in July, only to fall back to 7% by the end of the month, according to new data from enterprise SEO platform BrightEdge. <\/p>\n<p>While AI Overviews now have a \u201cstronger presence\u201d compared to June, the visibility of Google\u2019s AI-generated answers previously <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared on 15% of queries in May.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care. <\/strong>Google\u2019s AI Overviews continue to be a huge area of interest and concern among SEOs and content creators. Google is continuing to test and refine formats, citations and the amount of real estate AI Overviews occupy in the search results. The continued volatility clearly indicates AI Overviews are an unsolved problem for Google.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decreases.<\/strong> AI Overviews no longer appear for the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> and entertainment queries BrightEdge is tracking using its Generative Parser. AI Overviews also no occupy 12.5% less vertical space in Google\u2019s search results.<\/p>\n<p>In July, AI Overviews were less likely to appear for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General<\/a> product searches (e.g., \u201cshoes,\u201d \u201cfurniture\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>Brand-specific queries (e.g., Google, Apple).<\/li>\n<li>Basic how-to queries (e.g., \u201chow to do,\u201d \u201chow to find\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare searches \u2013 Google removed AI results for keywords related to \u201crare,\u201d \u201cgenetic\u201d and \u201ccomplex\u201d disorders. However, healthcare still has the highest number of AI Overviews (61%, down from 68%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Increases.<\/strong> Salary-related queries (e.g., \u201cnurse salary,\u201d \u201chuman resources manager salary\u201d) saw a significant increase in AI Overviews \u2013\u00a0jumping from 7% to 85% in July. AI Overviews were also more likely to be shown for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complex technical keywords (e.g., \u201cconfirmatory factor analysis\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>Long-tail keywords (e.g., \u201ctypes of data analysis\u201d).<\/li>\n<li>Specific product features (e.g., gooseneck electric kettle\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other growth and volatility.<\/strong> AI Overviews overlap with Google\u2019s search results increased overall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pages ranking in positions 31-100 experienced a \u201cgeneral increase in overlap, sometimes exceeding 3%.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Citations of top 10 results decreased, and \u201csignificant spikes\u201d were seen.<\/li>\n<li>The most stable area was for pages in positions 11-30, but there were some fluctuations here as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The sources cited by AI Overviews also experienced significant fluctuation, according to BrightEdge.
