\n Alex Cooper is breaking up with Spotify.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The world\u2019s most popular female podcaster has struck a new multiyear deal to take her\u00a0Call Her Daddy<\/em>\u00a0show and \u201cDaddy Gang\u201d of super fans over to SiriusXM starting in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n The move represents a major poach by the SiriusXM Podcast Network, as Cooper has been the music streamer\u2019s No. 2 original behind Joe Rogan\u2019s\u00a0Joe Rogan Experience<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n While numbers were not disclosed, Cooper made a record-breaking three-year $60 million Spotify deal in 2021. At the time, this was the second-biggest podcast deal ever struck following Rogan\u2019s own Spotify mega-deal. Cooper had reportedly been seeking at least $100 million guarantee and revenue sharing for her new deal. The move follows SiriusXM luring another top title,\u00a0SmartLess<\/em>, from Amazon in January.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n \u201cI am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM,\u201d the 29-year-old Cooper said in a statement. \u201cThe Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners the best experience. The Daddy Gang wants more, so we\u2019re getting ready to give them more\u2026I can\u2019t wait for this new chapter to begin.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n The new deal gives SiriusXM exclusive advertising and distribution rights for host and executive producer Cooper\u2019s flagship podcast, as well as her Unwell brand\u2019s lineup of shows (which include\u00a0Hot Mess with Alix Earle<\/em>,\u00a0Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy<\/em>,\u00a0Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey<\/em>, and\u00a0In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele<\/em>).<\/p>\n

\n Last year, Spotify CEO\u00a0Daniel Ek signaled that the company was\u00a0\u201cgoing to be very diligent in how we invest in future [podcast] content deals,\u201d causing some to wonder if the music streamer was going to continue to strike mega-deals for top content creators. In February, Spotify nonetheless renewed its Rogan deal for a contract that\u2019s reportedly worth $250 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Launched in 2018,\u00a0Call Her Daddy<\/em>\u00a0was initially a bawdy and sex-positive chat show with two young and single hosts (Cooper and co-host Sofia Franklyn). The show was quickly acquired by Barstool Sports where it became a nearly overnight success. In 2020, Cooper parted ways with Franklyn and, in 2021, took the podcast to Spotify. It\u2019s since evolved into \u201ca modern twist on feminism\u201d podcast that covers a range of topics and has frequent A-list celebrity guests (such as\u00a0Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hailey Bieber, Miley Cyrus and John Mayer). Rolling Stone has dubbed Cooper \u201cGen Z\u2019s Barbara Walters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n Most recently, Cooper launched media<\/a> company, Trending, and its subsidiary Unwell Audio Network, LLC, alongside her husband and business partner Matt Kaplan of Ace Entertainment. This media venture will elevate the voices and stories of Gen Z.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
