But OpenAI\u2019s website told me, \u201cAt this time, we don\u2019t have a timeline or additional details to share on Sora\u2019s broader public availability.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been waiting for more updates. And waiting. But waiting for Sora is starting to resemble \u201cWaiting for Godot.\u201d (If you haven\u2019t seen Samuel Beckett\u2019s play, then spoiler alert: Godot sends word that he\u2019ll be arriving tomorrow, but he never <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears.)<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-long-wait-sora-s-elusive-public-availability\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_long_wait_Soras_elusive_public_availability\"><\/span>The long wait: Sora\u2019s elusive public availability<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I watched \u201cOpenAI Sora\u2019s first short film \u2013 \u2018Air Head,\u2019 created by shy kids,\u201d when it debuted on March 26. It\u2019s unclear if KaraVideo.AI, a video generator powered by Sora, deserves most of the credit for this eye-catching video. If you don\u2019t have a creative team of humans driving the text-to-video model, then would you see similar or different results?<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-exploring-7-alternative-ai-video-generators\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exploring_7_alternative_AI_video_generators\"><\/span>Exploring 7 alternative AI video generators<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While waiting for Sora, I taught two online classes on influencer marketing and AI at the New <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media<\/a> Academy in Dubai, UAE. I showed my students \u201cAir Head\u201d but emphasized that AI video generators still need human creativity to produce interesting results.<\/p>\n<p>To help them apply what they learned, I assigned them the task of creating a video using a free AI generator available in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region within two or three days.<\/p>\n<p>To find the best tools, I turned to AI search engines (Perplexity, ChatGPT-4, Claude 3, Microsoft CoPilot and Google\u2019s Gemini). Each provided a list of recommendations, with options ranging from six to eight suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, my students learned about seven free AI video generators \u2013 six that I selected and one that another instructor in the program recommended. I also disclosed that I was writing this article and allowed my students to contribute their thoughts on the option that they had used.<\/p>\n<p>Dana Al Khulaifi, a student at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and a Data and Technical Support Manager at Dawahi AlAin, a community project, said:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cIt was easy and enjoyable to create videos with InVideo.io! My thoughts were given to the AI, which created a masterpiece out of them. I was able to produce professional-looking videos quickly because the AI handled the majority of the work.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI was really pleased with the range of layouts and how simple it was to customize it. It took hardly any effort to make my videos appear fantastic. InVideo.io is an amazing resource for anyone looking to create amazing videos fast and simply.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three other students, who wanted to remain anonymous, shared their comments about other AI video generators that they had used:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One student explored Synthesia for creating AI-generated videos. She was impressed by the availability of different Arabic dialects but noted that the pronunciation in Arabic was not perfect. She suggested that AI still needs human guidance for quality control, such as improving pronunciation and adding emotional expressions.<\/li>\n<li>Another student used Runway for video creation, finding the process straightforward with tools for editing, transitions and effects. She noted that while AI could automate many aspects, it still lacked the originality and emotional depth that human creativity provides. She emphasized the importance of human oversight in bringing contextual awareness and cultural sensitivity to AI-generated videos.<\/li>\n<li>A third student used Canva to create videos quickly. She noted the efficiency and speed of AI tools but highlighted the lack of emotional expression and the computer-like tone of AI-generated content. She suggested that AI tools could be used for drafting videos, which could later be refined with better AI tools or human intervention for a more polished final product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is a list of comments about using AI videos from more than a dozen other students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cI tried to use AI tools, but the video seemed very boring and didn\u2019t really showcase anything social.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cComparing the AI video with the one I created, the AI video was less engaging.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI is great but lacks human touch, especially in terms of storytelling and video quality.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe AI didn\u2019t really match the style I wanted, and the video felt robotic.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe AI video was interesting but not as detailed or creative as the one created by the human team.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI-generated content still needs human input; the video didn\u2019t capture the creativity I was looking for.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI tried to challenge the AI, but it struggled to properly depict what I had in mind, especially with cultural representation.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe AI couldn\u2019t get the hands right \u2013 it looked weird, and the voice-over was robotic.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI tools provided options and brainstorming ideas but didn\u2019t produce a final result that was up to par.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI video was very different from what I expected, especially when it came to hands and backgrounds. It wasn\u2019t fully accurate.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI is good for generating basic content, but it lacks the precision and personalization needed for luxury brands.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe AI had issues with details like hands, and the background didn\u2019t match the context I intended.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI videos often don\u2019t have the same emotional connection or creative flow as those made by humans.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe backgrounds created by AI often don\u2019t fit the context I want.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAI videos can create something quickly but lack in creativity and detail.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt didn\u2019t feel authentic; AI cannot replace the human touch and emotional intelligence.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe hands and background in the AI video were distorted and didn\u2019t match my original idea.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-advantages-and-challenges-of-ai-in-video-creation\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advantages_and_challenges_of_AI_in_video_creation\"><\/span>Advantages and challenges of AI in video creation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Overall, here are the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> observations made by dozens of students in the two classes:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-advantages\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advantages\"><\/span>Advantages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Efficiency and speed<\/strong>: AI tools can quickly generate videos, providing a starting point or draft for content creation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ease of use<\/strong>: Many students found AI video tools straightforward, enabling them to create videos without extensive technical knowledge.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Versatility<\/strong>: Tools like Synthesia offer diverse options, such as different languages and dialects, enhancing accessibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-limitations-and-challenges\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Limitations_and_challenges\"><\/span>Limitations and challenges<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Need for human intervention<\/strong>: AI-generated content often requires human oversight to ensure cultural relevance, emotional depth, and accuracy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pronunciation and expression<\/strong>: AI-generated voices, particularly in non-English languages, may lack proper pronunciation and emotional expressiveness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Content authenticity<\/strong>: AI tools can struggle with originality and creativity, emphasizing the need for human creativity to add unique elements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-testing-the-top-ai-video-generators-while-waiting-for-sora\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Testing_the_top_AI_video_generators_while_waiting_for_Sora\"><\/span>Testing the top AI video generators while waiting for Sora<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While waiting for Sora, evaluating other AI video generators can still teach us some important lessons.<\/p>\n<p>The most important lesson is this: \u201cAI won\u2019t take your job, it\u2019s somebody using AI that will take your job.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The economist, Richard Baldwin, was the first person to say this at the 2023 World Economic Forum\u2019s Growth Summit, and variations of this phrase have been repeated as people discuss the potential impacts of AI.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t wait for the perfect AI video generator to finally appear. <\/p>\n<p>Evaluate some of the best ones that are already available to learn what they can \u2013 and can\u2019t \u2013 do already.
