And soon, the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> public will have a chance to invest as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cowboy_crowdfund\"><\/span><b>Cowboy crowdfund\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowboy will launch its fourth crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube on Monday. UK-based Crowdcube enables private companies to sell shares to a crowd of private individuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowboy has so far raised \u20ac8mn from over 8,000 crowdfunders. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a revenue stream companies like <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revolut have tapped to <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/josipamajic\/2024\/08\/07\/from-pennies-to-millions-the-remarkable-crowdfunding-success-of-revolut\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">great success<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2016, 433 people bought shares in Revolut via Crowdcube. The average investment was <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a32,152<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. That would now be worth <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a3860,000, based on <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revolut\u2019s latest valuation<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowboy\u2019s latest funding round is by no means its largest. In 2022, the Belgian startup raised \u20ac80mn in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Series<\/a> C funding. To date, Cowboy has managed to secure $138mn (\u20ac125mn), according to startup data platform <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tracxn.com\/d\/companies\/cowboy\/__QK_3LsYqblqtX_MGvkuDCECWWzuvtK5idSQk1srevM8\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tracxn<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowboy\u2019s founders \u2014 Roose, Tanguy Goretti, and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Karim Slaoui \u2014 now look to prove that they can turn all that investment into a profitable business, a milestone they hope to achieve next year. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company already <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ebiketips.road.cc\/content\/news\/e-bike-brand-cowboy-records-first-profitable-month-4859\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">broke even<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> during the whole of September 2023, but now wants to replicate that success over the long term.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Going_omnichannel\"><\/span><b>Going omnichannel<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A key part of its strategy to become a profitable business, Roose explained, is expanding its network of third party dealers. Cowboy used to sell all of its bikes direct-to-consumer but last year started pursuing an omnichannel approach.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">downfalls of Dutch ebike brand VanMoof<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which went bankrupt last year, was that riders could only buy and service their ebikes at VanMoof branded stores. This was partly why the startup burnt through cash so quickly, and why its customers were so unsatisfied. Under its <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">new leadership<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, VanMoof has scrapped this model and it seems Cowboy has been taking notes, too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMost people today still buy and service ebikes at their local bike shop,\u201d said Roose. Cowboy\u2019s ebikes are now available in more than 250 independent dealers across Europe. The fresh funding will help expand that network.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Aftersales_%E2%80%94_aka_%E2%80%98Keeping_customers_happy\"><\/span><b>Aftersales \u2014 aka \u2018Keeping customers happy\u2019\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowboy\u2019s software-connected, minimalist ebikes have earned a dedicated following among young city-dwellers in pursuit of cycling perfection \u2014 and with some cash to spare. Its cheapest ebike starts at \u20ac2,697. Earlier this the company launched <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cross<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, its first all-road ebike model.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Cowboy\u2019s customers base grows and the company expands its product line, it faces new challenges in keeping riders happy. With such a high-end ebike loaded with proprietary parts, after-sales service is critical. Some <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/cowboybikes\/comments\/1cmch99\/the_state_of_cowboy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">discontented Cowboy riders on Reddit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have voiced their concern about customer support, particularly since Cowboy shifted its call centre from Belgium to Egypt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are aware of past concerns regarding our after-sales support,\u201d Roose told us, adding that Cowboy has since brought its call centre back to its headquarters in Brussels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The startup is also expanding its network of mobile mechanics who can <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fix your bike directly at your door<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Roose expects that expanding its network of third-party retailers will also make serving a Cowboy bike quicker and simpler.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While many challenges lie ahead, especially in this difficult startup funding environment, Roose is confident in his product. \u201cWhile there are many copycats in the market, we offer an ebike that is unrivaled in style and performance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bike-eu.com\/47836\/mckinsey-forecasts-e-bike-market-value-to-five-fold-by-2035\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McKinsey report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> predicts that the ebike market will grow from $180bn to $520bn by 2035. Five European countries account for a whopping 50% of the market. Germany leads, with France coming in second and the UK third.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roose has a simple explanation for the rising popularity of ebikes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThey\u2019re the best way to move around cities,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re greener, faster, cheaper, and healthier.\u201d<\/span>\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
