Milan Records announced that it will release\u00a0OSHI NO KO<\/em>\u2018s opening theme<\/a> song \u201cIdol\u201d by YOASOBI on vinyl. The hit song last year Best Opening Song of the Year Awards at the 10th Anime<\/a> Trending Awards and made the number one song on Apple Music\u2019s Top 100: Global chart. Pre-orders are now available<\/a> and the release is scheduled for November 15.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The release features a single LP pressed on a 140gm translucent light blue disc, single pocket jacket, 12\u2033 credit insert, and will include five different versions of \u201cIdol,\u201d including \u201cIdol (English version),\u201d and \u201cIdol (Anime Edit)\u201d, as well as three versions of \u201cTabun\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIdol\u201d was released on streaming services on April 12, the same date as the\u00a0OSHI NO KO<\/em>\u00a0anime\u2019s premiere, and had its\u00a0CD release<\/a>\u00a0on June 21 in Japan. It is based on the \u201c45510\u201d story penned by the\u00a0OSHI NO KO\u00a0<\/em>manga\u2019s writer\u00a0Aka Akasaka<\/strong>. The\u00a0music video\u00a0was also released on April 12, while an\u00a0English version\u00a0debuted on May 25. The former has over 180 million views on YouTube<\/a> at the time of writing, while the latter has 16 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0OSHI NO KO<\/em>\u00a0anime is directed by\u00a0Daisuke Hiramaki<\/strong>\u00a0(Selection Project<\/em>,\u00a0Asteroid in Love<\/em>) at Doga Kobo with\u00a0Chao Nekotomi<\/strong>\u00a0(Shikimori\u2019s Not Just A Cutie<\/em>\u00a0opening director and storyboarder,\u00a0Selection Project\u00a0<\/em>Episode 7 dance part director and storyboarder et al.) as assistant director,\u00a0Kanna Hirayama<\/strong>\u00a0(Rent-A-Girlfriend<\/em>) as character designer and chief character designer, and\u00a0Jin Tanaka<\/strong>\u00a0(Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club<\/em>,\u00a0Laid-Back Camp<\/em>) as series<\/a> composer. HIDIVE and Bilibili are streaming the entertainment industry-themed show outside of Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
