Yet our knowledge of their underlying biology is still limited, hindering the effectiveness of clinical trials and drug solutions.<\/p>\n<p>CardiaTec aims to address this knowledge gap with a drug discovery platform that leverages AI to analyse human tissue \u201cmulti-omics\u201d data.<\/p>\n<p>Mutli-omics is a biological analysis approach which combines the study of multiple \u201comes,\u201d the sets of various biological molecules or entities within a cell or organism. These include the genome, the tran<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>ome, the proteome, and the epigenome.<\/p>\n<p>By analysing multi-omics data, CardiaTec\u2019s platform investigates relationships that stretch across every level of biology to shed light on how cardiovascular diseases develop.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Uncovering_drug_targets\"><\/span>Uncovering drug targets<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"inarticle-wrapper channel-cta\">\n<div class=\"ica-text\">\n<p class=\"ica-text__title\">TNW Conference 2025 &#8211; Back to NDSM on June 19-20, 2025 &#8211; Save the date!<\/p>\n<p>As we wrapped up our incredible 2024 edition, we&#8217;re pleased to announce our return to Amsterdam NDSM in 2025. Registration now!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The startup is focusing in particular on uncovering drug targets: specific molecules within the body that are linked with a disease\u2019s progress and can be affected by a drug to achieve the intended therapeutic effect.<\/p>\n<p>CardiaTec\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> uses computational methods to identify and prioritise dysregulated drug targets and pathways associated with the disease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis approach enables the discovery of novel drug targets with well-defined mechanisms of action, increasing the likelihood of successful preclinical and subsequent clinical translation,\u201d Raphael Peralta, the company\u2019s co-founder and CEO, told TNW.<\/p>\n<p>CardiaTec is also building the first and largest human heart tissue multi-omics dataset. To do this, it has established a network of 65 hospitals across the UK and the US.<\/p>\n<p>With the fresh round, the company plans to expand its platform and move proprietary drug targets towards the preclinical stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have identified our first therapeutic targets,\u201d Peralta said.<\/p>\n<p>California-based Montage Ventures led the company\u2019s new seed round. Individual investors and VC firms also participated, including APEX Ventures and Dr Maximilien Levesque, CEO and co-founder of drug discovery startup Aqemia.<\/p>\n<p>Peralta founded CardiaTech in 2021, alongside Namshik Han (CTO) and Thelma Zablocki (COO).
