\n An 80-year old hiker who went missing in England reunited with his family on Tuesday \u2014 by crashing a news<\/a> conference his loved ones planned over his disappearance.<\/p>\n

Harry Harvey was split from his hiking partner during a hail storm in Northeast England\u2019s Yorkshire Dales on Saturday and officially declared missing the following afternoon.<\/p>\n

More than 100 members of the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team had been searching days for Harvey. He was feared dead when he was spotted on the trails by a wildlife photographer, who alerted rescuers, CNN reported.<\/p>\n

Harvey then called his wife to let her know he was safe. He was rushed to the press conference about to start at a country pub called The Tan Hill Inn, where his family was going to ask for help to locate him.<\/p>\n

While his family was terrified, Harvey regaled the local media with a survival adventure against \u201chowling gales and winds\u201d during a Facebook<\/a> live post on the pub\u2019s page.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had three really good wild camping nights where I was on my own and had all the kit I needed,\u201d Hevery said as he sat by the pub\u2019s fire.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only thing I was getting a bit short of was, I\u2019ve got a hell of an appetite and when I get hungry I\u2019ve got to get something to eat or I can\u2019t go on,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Harvey had a large bandage on his forehead, which he explained was treating an injury he said he suffered when he fell off a bridge and lost his compass.<\/p>\n

Harvey\u2019s son, Phil,\u00a0 joked that his dad was now \u201cgrounded\u201d and would have to take up a safer hobby, like bowling.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s had a blast, we\u2019ve had a nightmare,\u201d Harvey\u2019s daughter-in-law added.<\/p>\n

Harvey said he regrets causing so much worry among his family<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I had known there had been all this fuss I would have made my own way home,\u201d he added. \u201cIt is not my scene at all to have a fuss.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
