Lambertini added.<br \/>\n<b>&#8216;Staggering&#8217; fall<\/b><br \/>\nThe last half-decade has seen unprecedented economic growth underpinned by an explosion in global consumption of natural resources.<br \/>\nWhereas until 1970, humanity&#8217;s ecological footprint was smaller than the Earth&#8217;s capacity to regenerate resources, the WWF now calculates we are over using the planet&#8217;s capacity by more than half.<br \/>\nWhile aided by factors such as invasive species and pollution, the biggest single driver of species lost is land-use changes: normally, industry converting forests or grasslands into farms.<br \/>\nThis takes an immense toll on wild species, who lose their homes. <\/p>\n<div>\n<div data-src=\"https:\/\/scx2.b-cdn.net\/gfx\/news\/2020\/planetearths.jpg\" data-sub-html=\"World map highlighting areas where terrestrial ecosystems remain intact.\" data-thumb=\"https:\/\/scx1.b-cdn.net\/csz\/news\/tmb\/2020\/planetearths.jpg\">\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Planet Earth's last wildernesses\" src=\"https:\/\/scx1.b-cdn.net\/csz\/news\/800\/2020\/planetearths.jpg\" title=\"World map highlighting areas where terrestrial ecosystems remain intact.\"><\/img><figcaption>\n                World map highlighting areas where terrestrial ecosystems remain intact.<br \/>\n            <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>But it also requires unsustainable levels of resources to uphold: one third of all land mass and three quarters of all freshwater are now dedicated to producing food. <\/p>\n<p>The picture is equally dire in the ocean, where 75 percent of fish stocks are over exploited.<br \/>\nAnd while wildlife is declining rapidly, species are dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earing faster in some places than others.<br \/>\nThe index showed that the tropical regions of Central and South America had seen a 94 percent fall in species since 1970.<br \/>\n&#8220;It is staggering.
