Ten years on from <i>Young Wavy<\/i>, the solo tape that coalesced Ray\u2019s style following an extended stint as part of the city\u2019s legendary Team Eastside, Ray has little left to prove as a musician, but he\u2019s never notched the same commercial success as contemporaries like Tee Grizzley and Sada Baby; <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BoB8C6TC6uU\">his biggest hit to date<\/a> was promptly repurposed into <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=EIhk4XZjx-Y\">an even bigger hit<\/a>. But Ray\u2019s deliberate flows and stylistic focus keep proceedings firmly on track, whether one-upping G Herbo\u2019s street warfare on \u201c2 for 6\u201d or wistfully asserting that he\u2019s \u201ccrashing out when it come to family just like Toretto\u201d on \u201cMillion Dollar Baby.\u201d Some r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ers have to shout to be heard: Ray knows everyone will lean in close when he whispers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            At times, these songs can feel like a high-wire balancing act between Babyface Ray\u2019s Instagrammably haughty flexes and contemplative diary dispatches. At the latter extreme, Rexx Life Raj\u2019s ululating falsetto on \u201cGuardian Angel\u201d spurs a brooding verse where Ray can\u2019t quite outpace the past, admitting, \u201cI overreacted, second-guessing, think it\u2019s the trauma;\u201d and the atmospheric pulse of \u201cNights like This\u201d proffers a spare arena for Ray to shadowbox as his chains clink and clang in the booth. Babyface Ray consistently tilts more stoic than sentimental, but his sanguine outlook seems to reflect Sisyphean joy versus emotional stuntedness, the output of an artist who can find joy in the process as well as the product.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-264142\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>            Time and again, Babyface Ray zooms in on the minor joys of daily grinds both economic and emotional. That helps sell more maudlin tracks like \u201cHigh Off Life\u201d and \u201cLegacy,\u201d which gesture at the regal triumph of Rick Ross, and underpins the poignant resonance of more vulnerable tracks. Take the studied guitar twangs of DJ Esco-produced \u201cCherish:\u201d Ray meets the instrumental with a gently melodic breeze of a verse, twisting flexes into less-braggadocious forms. The high price of codeine prompts consideration of lean addicts going broke for their vices; telling a woman to leave her boyfriend (\u201ccan\u2019t do lame shit forever\u201d) scans like genuine advice, rather than a self-interested come-on.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Then there\u2019s the mid-album highlight \u201cDelusional\u201d with Hunxho, where Babyface Ray briefly considers falling in love. \u201cYou ain\u2019t perfect but beautiful \/ I got some bruises too,\u201d he coos, vocals lightly dredged in AutoTune. His amorous melodies are freakishly smooth, to the point that Hunxho\u2019s presence here seems almost superfluous. Almost \u2014 the Greensboro, NC singer has been on an incredible feature run in 2024, and his turn here is no different. His elastic flows stretch and snap across \u201cRubberband Man,\u201d stopping and starting like rush hour traffic. \u201cI&#8217;m in H. Lorenzo \/ the shit I cop could&#8217;ve put down for a benzo \/ She keep fuckin&#8217; lame n****s, put her in the friend zone.\u201d The successes of \u201cShy Kid,\u201d from overseas recognition to splurging out at Louis Vuitton, aren\u2019t quite unblemished: \u201cMr. Thuggin&#8217; Out The Corner Suite\u201d still tallies up the smoking fees paid out, the overdoses in his neighborhood, the declining bars of 5G when your home is big enough to block cell service.<\/p>\n<p>            Unsurprisingly, Babyface Ray loosens up the most around his zaniest collaborators.
