Now <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/artificial-intelligence\/openais-stunning-150-billion-valuation-hinges-upending-corporate-structure-2024-09-14\/\">Reuters says<\/a> the deal is contingent on whether OpenAI can restructure and remove a profit cap for investors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/09\/13\/sam-altman-openai-non-profit-structure-change-next-year\/\">according to Fortune<\/a>, co-founder and CEO Sam Altman told employees at a company-wide meeting that OpenAI\u2019s structure is likely to change next year, bringing it closer to a traditional for-profit business. OpenAI is currently structured so that its for-profit arm is controlled by a non-profit, which seems to frustrate investors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe remain focused on building AI that benefits everyone and as we\u2019ve previously shared we\u2019re working with our board to ensure that we\u2019re best positioned to succeed in our mission,\u201d OpenAI said in a statement. \u201cThe nonprofit is core to our mission and will continue to exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
