{"id":638424,"date":"2024-09-15T21:24:16","date_gmt":"2024-09-15T18:24:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/port-of-seattle-shares-ransomware-attack-details\/"},"modified":"2024-09-15T21:24:16","modified_gmt":"2024-09-15T18:24:16","slug":"port-of-seattle-shares-ransomware-attack-details","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/port-of-seattle-shares-ransomware-attack-details\/","title":{"rendered":"#Port of Seattle shares ransomware attack details"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p id=\"speakable-summary\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Port of Seattle released <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonports.org\/port-of-seattle-updates\">a statement<\/a> Friday confirming that it was targeted by a ransomware attack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The attack occurred on August 24, with the Port (which also operates the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport) saying it had \u201cexperienced certain system outages indicating a possible cyberattack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Port is now describing this as \u201ca \u2018ransomware\u2019 attack by the criminal organization known as Rhysida.\u201d (The group was also <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently responsible for last year\u2019s cyberattack on the British Library.) With the Port refusing to pay the ransom, Rhysida \u201cmay respond by posting data they claim to have stolen on their darkweb site.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur investigation of what data the actor took is ongoing, but it does appear that some Port data was obtained by the actor in mid-to-late August,\u201d the Port said, adding that it will notify employees or passengers if it learns that any of their information was stolen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TechCrunch\u2019s Devin Coldewey actually flew through the airport a few days after the attack, where he saw firsthand that many airport systems were still down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
