\n An MTA cleaner was killed Thursday morning when he fell at a Bronx train yard \u2014 and possibly touched the third rail, police said.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old worker was at the MTA 239th Street Yard and Maintenance Shop, at East 239th Street and Furman Avenue in Wakefield, when he app<\/a>eared to have slipped from a train and onto the tracks just after 5 a.m., cops said.<\/p>\n

EMS responded and pronounced the employee dead on scene. He was not immedia<\/a>tely identified.<\/p>\n

The city medical examiner will officially determine his cause of death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are devastated to learn early this morning of the death of a car cleaner at the 239th Street maintenance yard,\u201d MTA Interim President Sarah Feinberg said in a statement. \u201cA full investigation is underway to determine the cause. Our hearts go out to the cleaner\u2019s family and co-workers at this tragic time.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
