An April 2025 premiere window was also revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Amidst all the teaser\u2019s destruction, swordplay, and shooting is an over-the-top sequence of protagonist Dante running along the falling debris of a recently exploded airplane. The animation\u2019s showrunner\/executive producer\/creator <b>Adi Shankar\u00a0<\/b>(<i>Castlevania<\/i> executive producer) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sea.ign.com\/xbox-one-gaming-hardware\/143498\/news\/devil-may-cry-series-joins-castlevania-in-new-multiverse-from-adi-shankar\">told IGN<\/a> in 2018 that it \u201cwill join Castlevania in what we\u2019re now calling the bootleg multiverse.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The logline for the eight-episode series reads:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><i>In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game, sinister forces are at\u00a0<\/i><i>play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is\u00a0<\/i><i>Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs\u00a0<\/i><i>around his neck.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The first\u00a0<i>Devil May Cry\u00a0<\/i>game was originally released in 2001 as a PS2 title (it has since been ported to other platforms). The most recent entry was 2019\u2019s <i>Devil May Cry 5<\/i>, which was released for PS4, Xbox One, and Steam (a Special Edition was later released for current-gen consoles in 2020).
