But FT writer Lionel Barber, whose new biography of Son is called \u201cGambling Man,\u201d writes that while Son appeared to be \u201cdoing penance,\u201d he was actually \u201cplotting a comeback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now SoftBank is betting big on AI, and finding success by taking chip design company Arm public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are also some fun personal details in the profile, like Son\u2019s apparent fascination with Napoleon. When an activist investor brought up Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg in a 2020 meeting with Son, he reportedly dismissed them as \u201cone-business guys.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe right comparison for me is Napoleon, Genghis Khan or Emperor Qin,\u201d Son said. \u201cI am not a CEO.
