Retailers must adapt by prioritizing product pages for SEO.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"bialty-container\">\nWe all know there have been many changes in the search results during the last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AI Overviews.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a> increases in visibility.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Google\u2019s site reputation abuse policy.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>And the list goes on and on.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, one key topic has been overlooked: Google\u2019s major updates to ecommerce search results, which deserve more attention.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>March 2022<\/strong>: They <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/google-search-results-rolls-out-much-more-visual-design-33152.html\">launched product grids<\/a> that show products directly.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>June 2022<\/strong>: They started <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/google-testing-search-filters-on-left-side-bar-33542.html\">testing search filters<\/a> on the left sidebar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>June 2022: <\/strong>They <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/google-in-store-nearby-local-results-expand-33629.html\">integrated local elements<\/a> by including local \u201cIn-Store Nearby\u201d results.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>January 2024: <\/strong>Now, they show <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seroundtable.com\/google-testing-5-product-results-grid-36730.html\">five product grid results <\/a>instead of four.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>September 2024: <\/strong>They <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/aleyda_seofomo-activity-7238976456591110147-V3I4?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop\">began to integrate<\/a> product results in AI Overviews.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While these changes may seem small on their own, combined, they have a significant impact over time.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/wp-content\/seloads\/2024\/10\/Retailers-Google-is-becoming-your-new-category-page.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-new-ecommerce-search-experience-nbsp\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_new_ecommerce_search_experience\"><\/span>The new ecommerce search experience\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After all these changes, where does it leave us?
