You told me a quote that your mother said, \u2018A man knows what he wants.\u2019 And I was just saying my true feelings,\u201d he said. \u201cLike listen, Jennifer is the true person. If I should be married, it will be to Jennifer Kate Hudson. I was just being honest. Now wait. Where do you stand on that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laughing, she replied: \u201cMy mother was right. I think that if she had met you, she\u2019d say, \u2018I don\u2019t know about the rest of them, but that Common is alright with me.\u2019 And I would agree. I think it\u2019s a beautiful thing, I think you are a deserving man and I support that idea. I think it\u2019s a beautiful idea. Now hold on \u2013 in due time, if it ever gets to that place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Common concluded: \u201cI\u2019m listening to God more and more and I feel like I know what purpose is and I feel like this is purpose right here and now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Common Talks Marriage and Receives Special Award from Jennifer Hudson\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qYV_8yhhH4Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Back in July while appearing on<em> The Breakfast Club<\/em>, Common, who has never been married, suggested that if he were to ever to tie the knot, it would be to the <em>Dreamgirls<\/em> star.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I\u2019m gonna get married, it\u2019s to her. Simple as that,\u201d he said after co-host Charlamagne Tha God pressed him about the future of their relationship.<\/p>\n<p>Common further gushed over his romance with the singer, actress and talk show host, saying: \u201cThis is definitely \u2014 with all due respect to all the women I\u2019ve dated \u2019cause it\u2019s all love \u2014 but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also spoke highly of their mutual Chi-Town roots: \u201cHaving a lady from Chicago, that has allowed me to home and just be <em>home<\/em>. I hadn\u2019t done that in a while where I was just going home and being around my loved ones and having no work to do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat helped me with this album [<em>The Auditorium Vol. 1<\/em> with Pete Rock] because going to your roots, you gotta always recharge and plug in to them roots. I feel like that\u2019s what I wanted to give to Chicago again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWhen you\u2019re with somebody who\u2019s from where you from, it\u2019s a different kind of connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Actress Tiffany Haddish, who dated Common between 2020 and 2021, had nothing but love for her former partner and expressed as much online.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to an Instagram comment which said: \u201cWell there he said it he wants to marry her he ain\u2019t neva said that about no woman b4,\u201d Haddish replied: \u201cEXACTLY!
