Childish Gambino has, almost a month after first postponing some dates of his New World Tour, said that the entire thing is scrapp<\/a>ed.<\/p>\n

On Friday (October 4), the multi-hyphenate took to X to announce that he was canceling the tour. He hasn\u2019t performed since a show in New Orleans on September 7<\/a>, after which he said he was postponing the tour\u2019s North American dates \u201cin order to focus on my physical health.\u201d<\/p>\n

In his statement on Friday that moved the status from postponement to cancelation, Gambino gave more details.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent,\u201d he wrote. \u201cAfter being assesed [sic], it became clear i would not perform that night, and after more tests, i could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously,\u201d he continued. \u201cWith that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tour kicked off on August 11 but ran into hiccups almost immedia<\/a>tely. Two weeks in, Gambino was forced to cancel a show in Connecticut \u201cdue to production issues.\u201d Just before his original announcement, he canceled his Houston show \u201cdue to illness.\u201d<\/p>\n

While things were still in full swing,\u00a0Childish Gambino surprised the crowd at the Brooklyn stop of the tour with a special appearance from Shaboozey.<\/p>\n

Going down on August 25 at the Barclays Center, the pair performed a remix to Gambino\u2019s new\u00a0Bando Stone & The New World<\/em>\u00a0album track \u201cDadvocate\u201d \u2013 which made for the first time the song was performed live.<\/p>\n

Then of course Shaboozey did his smash hit \u201cBar Song,\u201d which is currently at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week.<\/p>\n

Gambino previously revealed that the New World Tour features cutting edge technology<\/a>\u00a0that he expects to be stolen by other artists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
