A$AP Rocky and Pharrell have been announced as co-chairs of the 2025 Met Gala, alongside Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Anna Wintour and honorary chair LeBron James.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday (October 9), the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the co-chairs as they revealed their spring 2025 exhibition, \u201cSuperfine: Tailoring Black Style.\u201d According to Vogue<\/a><\/em>, the exhibit will feature \u201cgarments, paintings, photographs, and more\u2014all exploring the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th-century through present day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2025 Met Gala will take place on May 5, with the dress code set to be announced in the next few months. The exhibit will be on view the following day through October 26, 2025.<\/p>\n

This will mark Pharrell\u2019s second time as co-chair for the prestigious fashion event, having previously done so in 2017 for their \u201cRei Kawakubo\/Comme des Gar\u00e7ons: Art of the In-Between\u201d theme<\/a>. It is Rocky\u2019s first, though both have attended the gala many times.<\/p>\n

On the music side of things, A$AP Rocky is preparing to drop his next studio album Don\u2019t Be Dumb<\/em>, but after pushing back its initial August 30 release date, it now has an unspecified fall release.<\/p>\n

He recently described the LP as \u201cgrim\u201d and a mix of \u201cGerman expressionism [and] ghetto futurism.\u201d The effort will serve as his first album in six years and the follow up to his third album Testing<\/em>, which arrived to mixed reviews in 2018.<\/p>\n

Flacko also described the project as \u201cthe best album he\u2019s ever made,\u201d according to Billboard<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

It continues: \u201cDon\u2019t Be Dumb<\/em> skews slightly heavier topically and goes deeper than Rocky\u2019s usual vainglorious works. The 35-year-old jack-of-all-that\u2019s-fly chalks this up to him getting older (\u2018I\u2019m an OG now\u2019) and wiser and the world being batshit crazy at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the first songs he recorded for the album is a grim, experimental track called \u2018Shroom Cloud\u2019 that deals with \u2018current affairs and world wars and, you know, the world dying and whatnot.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

On par with his aforementioned \u201cgrim\u201d description, Rocky revealed he played the project for legendary director Tim Burton, who he unsuccessfully attempted to recruit to create the cover art.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was fucking with it heavy,\u201d the father of two said. \u201c[H]e was rocking his head and he\u2019s like, \u2018Wow! I didn\u2019t know you made that kind of music!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Rocky did, however, manage to secure musical contributions from Burton\u2019s frequent collaborator, composer Danny Elfman, including on a song produced by The Alchemist.<\/p>\n

Other prominent producers also expected to make the album include Metro Boomin, Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell, Madlib and Mike Dean.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
