rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/dedhyatt.bandcamp.com\/album\/glossy\">Ded Hyatt<\/a> says he is a dreamer, the kind of artist whose ideas hit whether he\u2019s hiking the Pacific Crest Trail or checking into a bland chain hotel. It\u2019s the latter that informed his moniker, a play on the hospitality giant and his own dual heritage. Written during a time of turbulence and disorder in his life, it\u2019s an impressively eclectic collection of playful and loose R&amp;B songs that call to mind Frank Ocean at his most experimental and blurry or, on standout song \u201cChlorine,\u201d how you\u2019d imagine the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/justin-bieber-working-new-music-with-mk-gee-1235767207\">rumored collaboration<\/a> between Justin Bieber and Mk.gee to sound. <\/p>\n<p>            Hyatt has said he wrote <i>Glossy<\/i> after what he calls a \u201clife changing event,\u201d though he hasn\u2019t specified its precise nature. Songs such as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=S8DVKzXfZC4\">\u201cGT80,\u201d<\/a> which rattles with stark memories of the past, suggest it\u2019s a break up. \u201cI\u2019m fine,\u201d he sings on the track, seemingly trying to convince himself. \u201cSever my ties. Album opener \u201cHybrid Romance\u201d is reminiscent of The Knife, with reverb-heavy beats creating an alien and unsettling air. \u201cHerne Hill Experiment,\u201d meanwhile, shows Hyatt could sit comfortably alongside Tommy Richman in Brent Faiyaz\u2019s stable of ghostly falsetto crooners. \u201cDevotion\u201d brings windchimes and explosive synths into the mix, combining them to sound like Enya soundtracking a noisy shmup <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> on her PlayStation 5. <\/p>\n<p>            While the dreams Hyatt offers up on <i>Glossy<\/i> are, more often than not, stark reality checks, he exits the album from a higher vantage point. He sings \u201cOrigin\u201d from the cockpit of a spaceship, seemingly determined to distance himself from the painful memories back down on earth.
