\n Harvey Weinstein has been diagnosed with cancer, the latest in a slew of headlines related to the disgraced film producer\u2019s health this fall. <\/p>\n

\n Weinstein has chronic myeloid leukemia, NBC News<\/a> reported Monday. He is undergoing treatment while still in prison at Rikers Island in New York. <\/p>\n

\n Per the Mayo Clinic, chronic myeloid leukemia is an uncommon form of cancer of the bone marrow. <\/p>\n

\n Craig Rothfeld, Weinstein\u2019s authorized legal healthcare representative in New York State, offered \u201cno further comment\u201d in a statement sent to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>, except to express \u201cprofound dismay at the speculation surrounding Mr. Weinstein\u2019s medical condition.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n News<\/a> of Weinstein\u2019s diagnosis comes after he underwent emergency heart surgery last month, and tested positive for COVID and double pneumonia in July.<\/p>\n

\n Weinstein is being held at Rikers Island as he awaits a retrial in November, after his 2020 rape conviction in New York, and 23-year sentence, was overturned in April. He was indicted on further sexual assault charges in New York also last month, to which he pleaded not guilty, and is now charged under two indictments for three sex crimes. He is expected to be arraigned at a later date.<\/p>\n

\n Weinstein did not app<\/a>ear in court when the fact of the indictment was revealed, as he did not receive medical clearance, but did appear \u2014 in a wheelchair, as always \u2014 to plead \u201cnot guilty.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
