The New York Times endorsed Harris on Sept. 30.<\/p>\n<p>The Post has sought comment from the Washington Post and Bezos.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos, the second-richest person in the world with a net worth <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/billionaires\/profiles\/jeffrey-p-bezos\/\">valued by Bloomberg Billionaires Index<\/a> at $208 billion as of Thursday, was a frequent target of Trump during his first term in office \u2014 mainly due to the Washington Post\u2019s coverage of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>The paper\u2019s silence comes against the backdrop of the drama playing out in the Los Angeles Times newsroom, where the editorial board was blocked from publishing its Harris endorsement by the outlet\u2019s billionaire owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong.<\/p>\n<p>Soon-Shiong\u2019s intervention prompted Mariel Garza, the LA Times\u2019 editorials editor, to resign in protest on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>On his X feed, Soon-Shiong wrote that he wanted the editorial board to \u201cdraft a factual analysis of all the positive and negative policies by each candidate during their tenures at the White House\u201d as part of a \u201cclear and non-partisan information side-by-side\u201d so \u201cour readers could decide\u201d whom to support.<\/p>\n<p>Fortune 500 moguls have been reticent to weigh in on the election and have preferred to steer clear of political controversy for fear of angering the potential winner.<\/p>\n<p>Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly complained to several people about the criticism he has received for his philanthropic work and has ceased supporting any endeavors that could be construed as partisan.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Staffers at the Washington Post suspect that Bezos has been delaying publication of the editorial board\u2019s endorsement of Harris. <span class=\"credit\">Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During the 2020 elections, Zuckerberg, the third-richest person in the world, whose net worth was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/billionaires\/profiles\/mark-e-zuckerberg\/\">valued by Bloomberg Billionaires Index<\/a> at $200 billion as of Thursday, donated around $350 million to support election administration in the face of challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>But Zuckerberg was criticized by some who alleged that most of the funds tended to favor Democratic-leaning areas.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/10\/22\/business\/jamie-dimon-jpmorgan-harris-trump.html?utm_source=www.status.news&amp;utm_medium=newsletter&amp;utm_campaign=a-puzzle-at-the-post&amp;_bhlid=b08ca7b49ffa7fadccc272aefe05737ed167c573\">the New York Times reported that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon<\/a> is privately backing Harris, but won\u2019t say so publicly out of fear that Trump would retaliate against him if he were to become president again.\n                        <\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
