But after someone <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@lindseygamble_\/post\/DBkEJmJvprg?xmt=AQGzMcoJTajdK4dS4gfBv7SJBfPs5h1TAx-Ma84165CHPg\">shared Mosseri\u2019s video on Threads<\/a>, many users had questions and criticisms, with one going as far to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@marklacroix\/post\/DBnRo58sTew?xmt=AQGzMcoJTajdK4dS4gfBv7SJBfPs5h1TAx-Ma84165CHPg\">describe<\/a> the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach as \u201ctruly insane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The discussion prompted Mosseri to offer more detail. For one thing, he <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@mosseri\/post\/DBmuQaIP-Q8\">clarified<\/a> that these decisions are happening on an \u201caggregate level, not an individual level,\u201d so it\u2019s not a situation where individual viewer engagement will affect the quality of the video that\u2019s played for them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe bias to higher quality (more CPU intensive encoding and more expensive storage for bigger files) for creators who drive more views,\u201d Mosseri added. \u201cIt\u2019s not a binary [threshold], but rather a sliding scale.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A number of users also suggested that this approach creates a system that privileges popular creators over smaller ones \u2014 popular creators get to post in the highest quality, which reinforces their popularity, while smaller creators can\u2019t break through.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mosseri <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@mosseri\/post\/DBmv6HuPOp-\">said<\/a> it\u2019s \u201cthe right concern,\u201d but he claimed, \u201cIn practice it doesn\u2019t seem to matter much, as the quality shift isn\u2019t huge and [whether] or not people interact with videos is way more based on the content of the video than the quality.\u201d Quality, he said, turns out \u201cto be much more important to the original creator.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
